“No frills simple hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

I guess I had high expectations of this hotel given that it ranked 2nd in the list. Nevertheless I found nothing extraordinary/special about the hotel. This is a no frills/very few amenities hotel with a great location. The rooms are comfortable but be careful with who you are travelling with; If you are travelling with a colleague on a business trip, you might find having a glass as a bathroom door quite depressing.
The design of the hotel is unique but it has nothing to do with a comfortable stay. the front desk is helpful and welcoming.
The Chilly Pickle, the independent restaurant at the bottom floor of the hotel is without doubt the best restaurant in town. If you are into Indian food this is one of the best.

“Top notch one night stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Ultra-modern; centrally located - two minutes walk from The Lanes and Theatre Royal; great rooms with comfy beds and funky modern decor.
Classy place to stay and a superb bar with evil cocktails. Not a stag or hen in sight, either.

“A Perfect Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Stayed here for one night for my partners birthday and it was totally perfect. Managed to get an upgrade to the carousel suite and it was amazing. Huge four-poster bed, gigantic bath, lovely steam room/shower and a 300 year old carousel horse. What more could you need! I had organised a cake through the hotel and this was also out of this world, complete with mini macaroons and fresh fruit.

As other reviews have stated the toilet has just a pull to frosted glass door, as do all rooms. In this suite the toilet is a bit out the way and it wouldn’t have bothered us anyway but I can understand why some people don’t like it.

We had one minor issue during the stay, in that I was charged twice for the room. I had paid in advance and paid when I got there as I didn’t even think of it. On my return home I emailed them querying this and they informed me they had noticed their error and forwarded me a copy of the receipt showing it had been refunded within 20 mins of me checking in. They are very good!

The location is brilliant and, if like me, you can’t wait to eat some doughnuts and loose some 2p’s, the pier is easily within walking distance.

All in all it was a fantastic hotel and will be staying there again when we return. We have stayed at Drakes and the Hotel du vin in this area but myhotel is by far my favourite.

I would like to especially thank Freddy for all his help; before, during and after our stay. He was extremely friendly and helpful. All other staff where polite and friendly enough but you could tell he was really putting the effort in and made us feel special.

Room Tip: If you can, get the carousel suite. The room is amazing; the photos on the website do not do it just...

“Very stylish, nice staff, great location and comfy bed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Stayed here on Saturday night. It's located pretty much in the middle of town. We found the staff to be very helpful, the superior room we had on the 2nd floor was nice, the bed was comfy and we had a very good night's sleep. Would recommend this hotel for its good value and interesting style.

“We would return”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

An interesting and enjoyable stay. The reception staff were very professional and friendly. The room was comfortable enough with a quirky finish. The only thing to let the hotel down was breakfast. The dining room has a greasy spoon atmosphere with disinterested staff. We found Brighton a friendly town and recommend a visit.
