Clean presentable room. Comfy bed. Very friendly service. Close to beach and shops. Nice breakfast. Shower in our room was a little tempremental with temperature at times but would not put me off staying here again. Good value-stayed in other BnBs for more money that weren't as nice. Decor is dated but clean and well looked after.

Stayed here for two nights on a short break and was very impressed.

Price was a little lower than the going rate for Swanage, and this gets you a B&B which is very well presented and perfectly comfortable. Well located for the town centre (only a few minutes walk from pubs/bars, the beach, and other attractions such as the theatre, pier, etc.

Free internet, nice breakfast, lovely owners and good service, so all in all, no complaints and a big well done!

I dont think rthe owners are particularly au fait with the internet and tripadvisor (perhaps the reason there fewer reviews on here than I expected?) but dont this lack of reviews put you off- I would recommend based on my stay.

We stayed at the Oxford House for 4 nights, and couldn't fault anything, a lovely hotel, central to Swanage and just minutes from the beach, quite a gem of a hotel

We have just returned from 2 nights at the Oxford House in Swanage. The guest house is a stone's throw from Swanage town centre thus close to all the pubs, bars, cafes, teahouses, restaurants and beach. The owners Robin & Janis made us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean, 'fresh' and quiet (apart from the odd seagull squaking outside!) We paid £130 for 2 nights which is reasonable for Swanage. Breakfast is served from 8.30 - 9.00 and was brought to us promptly when we came down. We were doubting choosing a guest house as thought we might not get as much privacy as a hotel but in fact we had complete privacy along with the 'personal touch' (advice on where to eat, where to go, directions etc). Oxford House is a lovely place to stay, as is Swanage itself. Recommended!
