If your planning a weekend to Swanage this little place is perfect-good value,great breakfasts and a very helpful owner who will do all she can to help you-We noticed that families stayed-hen night groups stayed and folk attending weddings at the Purbeck House Hotel also stayed.Nice location on the hill and in the winter months parking is very easy-Thank you for a very pleasant stay xx

I was keen to return to Swanage after a gap of nearly 45 years and my wife and I selected The Limes because it seemed to offer everything that we required and oh boy we weren't wrong. Millie, our little Jack Russell, appeared to like it as it was just like home from home. Probably the most dog friendly guest house for miles, visitors with dogs are positively encouraged. The list of dog friendly pubs/restaurants that was given to us upon arrival was most useful enabling us to take Millie with us when we went out for our evening meals.Our large en-suite room which fronted on to the street had a wonderful view of the bay. Particularly notable at The Limes is the size of the full English breakfasts, they are truly gargantuan and will effectively last you all day - a true "All Day Breakfast" although other selections are of course available. A boon to dog owning guests is that, while dogs cannot be taken into the dining room, breakfasts may be taken in the conservatory where dogs are allowed. Located in a quiet side road, The Limes is nevertheless only a few minutes walk from the town centre and the beach. The one drawback is that this quiet side road is also a VERY steep hill so the elderly and the infirm without a car should take note. However the Limes is lucky in that it does have a car park (at the rear) so walking up that hill can be avoided.
If we go to Swanage again we will definitely stay at the Limes.

We stayed at the Limes with friends who were getting married. They had booked the rooms and chose the location as it came highly recommended and they have 2 small dogs. As a non dog owner who had pre conceptions of a dog friendly hotel, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the whole guesthouse.

The hosts were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
The location was perfect with excellent views of the bay and only a few mins walk to the town centre in one direction and the country park in the other.
Breakfast was excellent. The small bar was well stocked and cosy.
There is a comfortable sitting room and games room with a pool table for quiet or rainy nights in.
Rooms were clean, quiet, and provided everything one would expect from a modern day guesthouse.
Ample parking both in the private car park and on street.
Lots of information available about the area and they have a folder at reception with lots of menus of bars and restaurants in town.

I do not have a negative thing to say about The Limes, would happily recommend and definitely stay there in future.

The Limes is a great little spot in Swanage in a fanatasic location - just a 30 second walk to the town centre (albeit up a hill) it is still far away enough to provide the peace and quiet needed for a good night's sleep.

We stayed with our Jack Russell (Rosie) as part of a mini dog-holiday and it was great to have such a warm and friendly reception, especially as we'd never taken a dog away before and didn't know what to expect. The Limes were great about providing a list of dog-friendly pubs/ restaurants too, which was most welcome.

Rooms are clean and spacious with all the touches you need for a comfortable stay. Bathroom was also very clean, although echo previous comments about the slow trickle shower - but not really a big deal.

Breakfast was very enjoyable and there was no scrimping on the portion size. Great touch that Rosie was also allowed to be with us during breakfast in the front conservatory.

Would stay here again if we return to Swanage.
