I stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. The location is right on the cliff top, but 20-30 minutes walk in to Bournemouth.

The double room was very small, but we didn't spend much time in it.

The bar staff were very slow, and had no idea of who was waiting to be served. The breakfast staff were much better.

two lovely nights stay, hotel is lovely , very pleased with the rooms very clean large comfortable beds, and the staff cannot fault very helpful polite, planning to book again within next few weeks and will recommend to family and friends, had problem with low water pressue and the young manager sorted the problem for us straight away ,

The cottonwood sells itself as a boutique hotel, I feel that apart from the rich decor in the public areas it falls short of boutique.
I had a large room on the ground floor, the tv was big and old and 4 channels only, the furniture was old ( not vintage or distressed just old) and mis matched. There was no shower and the bath took 20 minutes to run due to low water pressure. The finishing touches were missing some areas of hotel were nice others were shabby. My bed was comfortable but although my room was nice there was no view at all. The staff we're very friendly and helpful however.
Super value at £45 per night and a good location.

If you want to get away for a romantic weekend, I would consider another quaint hotel. The location is great, right on the water, but the quality of the room needs improvement. Room had no view (you would need to pay more for the water view), under decorated, uncomfortable beds, phone didn't work as you can't reach the receptionst and a shower that didn't work - low water pressure. How is one suppose to shower??

The hotel is quaint and located near the walk path to the beach and restaurants. Our breakfast was included but we had to go next door to eat which we didn't mind.

I guess since we used Groupon to book this hotel at a discount price, it's worth the price we paid ~ not for quality.
