The Cary Court is now our indisputable No 1 choice of where to stay whenever we are in the Torquay area for family get-togethers. It is refreshingly quirky (a bit like its owners, Paul and Linda), and at the same time supremely comfortable. This time our bigger-than-usual family group was lucky enough to be able to take over the whole hotel, as it was being kept open later in the season than usual in order to coincide with a very significant birthday for one of our number. The breakfasts are great, the lounge cosy, the bring-your-own bar/conservatory perfect for preparing cocktails; and good town-centre restaurants are within walking distance (or only a very short taxi-ride away if you're too full for the climb back up the hill). Bliss.

I have just returned from another weekend stay at Cary Court. We were there to celebrate a big family birthday, and had chosen Cary Court as our venue, having visited several times in the past.

As always Paul and Linda were excellent hosts and we really feel it is now a home from home. The rooms are spacious, light and quiet, and extremely good value for money. The dining room and lounge provide a gracious place to socialise. The breakfasts are generous and suit any taste, small or large.The added bonus of the small bar was perfect for our evening of cocktails and canapes, and Paul and Linda very thoughtfully provided everything we would need, apart from the alcohol!

We had lunch at a nearby restaurant, Steps Bistro, recommended by Paul and Linda, and they provided us with not only a delicious lunch, but also a scrummy birthday cake.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cary Court for anyone visiting the Torquay area and I and the family will definitely be back.

This is a beautiful B & B with close proximity to the harbour. Paul and Linda are excellent hosts who know who to make their guest feel completely at home. Our room was bright, comfortable and quiet. Friendly, amusing Paul was very helpful with maps, recommendations for a restaurant, etc. We would definitely return and stay longer than one night.

4 night stay with friends from the local MG car club. Hotel as friendly as ever, good breakfast and BBQ Saturday was OK just a pity about the weather. The bring your own alcohol is a winner with most people. There is a small bar area with refrigeration to keep it cool. There is a pool for those who wish to use it.

Overall a well run hotel that is comfortable and pleasant to stay in.
