“Lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

The hotel was lovely and very friendly. It was very central. The weather was a bonus this weekend and we made use of the outdoor pool and pool area.
The room was decorated beautifully and was very comfortable.
This a family run hotel and the owners are extremley friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good.
We didn't want to go home, we will certainly stay here again when we next visit Torquay.

“Fun traditional B&B with a pub!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

The Cimon had plenty of parking and amenities as well as a friendly hostess and heated pool. The hostess was very nice and waited for us even though we arrived quite late at night. The room was small but adequate and very nicely decorated with hotel quality toiletries provided. Our favorite part was the pub downstairs which was equipped with a pool table, darts board and various games as well as wifi. The English breakfast was great and the breakfast lounge had a nice view of the heated pool and patio. This was probably one of the most fun B&Bs we stayed at during our tour of Devon and Cornwall due to all the amenities.

“Hotel Cimon”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Hotel Cimon isn't a hotel so much as a bed and breakfast guest house. We booked the only remaining double, but found it was in fact a family room with a double bed, bunk beds and two ensuite showers which was a bit off putting. The plumbing is also very strange with large bore central heating pipes to the upstairs room running along the ceiling cornice. The newly decorated room is therefore let down by the rather shambolic conversion from large Victorian home to guest house. If you want conventional, slick hotel ambience, this won't fly your kite or float your boat. Having said that the hotel owners and staff are very friendly and helpful and our room was clean and quite well appointed.

The breakfasts were excellent, better than most 4 star hotels. The full English came with proper fried bread, fresh mushrooms and vine tomatoes. The continental breakfast was even better with fresh fruit salad -strawberries, raspberries, pineapple and blueberries. For those with a very sweet tooth, there was a lovely fruit tart.

The hotel is very well placed being near to the town centre, but if you are more comfortable in conventional hotels you would be better off in a Premier Inn or a pub chain. Hotel Cimon is overpriced for what was really a guest house.

Room Tip: If you want to ensure you have a double room and not a family room, phone first to confirm.

“A good guesthouse for a weekend break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

I had a great stay here at the weekend with my partner. The room was well sized. The hotel is in a good location, a 5 minute walk from the sea front. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was just amazing - better than most 4 star hotels! The room price was a little on the high side for a guesthouse, £200 for 2 nights, but probably worth paying for such a great place.
