It's a really nice place to stay in Torquay! Fully satisfied with the service provided. Rooms and facilities are clean and good decorated. Nice back garden and swimming pool. We have enjoyed hot tub as well! Will come back one day with great pleasure. Alex and Jane

“Truly fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

My husband and I have stayed at The Marstan hotel on 3 occasions now and we have never been disappointed.

Craig and Ian are excellent hosts, always a warm welcome whether it be with Craig's home made biscuits or cake on arrival, or bringing us champagne whilst we are in the hot tub!!

Wonderful full English breakfast in the morning cooked to order, and the accommodation was luxurious and extremely comfortable.

Would highly recommend and we are already planning our next visit!

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the 4 poster bed (and get Craig to play a tune on the piano, he's fabulous...

“Great hotel, shame about the football”

Having persuaded my wife to accompany me to Torquay to watch AFC Wimbledon on a Tuesday, the compromise was to stay at The Marstan. What a lovely, pleasant and friendly experience it proved to be. We stayed in Room 4, that pictured on their web site. It was spacious with grand furnishings and the most enormous comfortable bed; I can't remember the last time I slept so well. Breakfast was superb; if you watch 3 in a bed, Craig's cooking would top that! Do try their home made granola and yoghurt. Delicious. We were surprised with Torquay, it is a town blessed with many quality restaurants. I would recommend 7 Fish Bistro, 15 minutes walk away. Awesome. I suppose I should mention the football. We lost! My wife said 'Long way to come and lose'. At least The Marstan was worth the journey. We stayed for two nights but should have stayed longer. I would recommend The Marstan

“The best place to stay in Torquay”

Great English breakfasts cooked to order; croissants were baked fresh each day; granola, yoghurt and maramalade were all homemade. Congenial hosts who even played the piano for us to sing to and threw in a yoga lesson! Try the upstairs rooms with baths; heavenly. Opulent sitting and dining rooms as well as a bar. Nothing was too much trouble for our lovely hosts. Ideal for a lady travelling on her own, romantic couples or any discerning traveller who requires privacy and attention to detail. I can thoroughly recommend this charming hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the upstairs room with a bath. I think they are called King rooms. Only slightly dear...
