“We discovered a gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

The complimentary reviews that attracted us to Squires were accurate. I visited with a Portuguese guest and we were both impressed with the warm greeting Dave and Paula afforded us and the efficient way they operate. Throughout, they checked every detail relating to our visit, where appropriate. The facilities are very comfortable and modern and well located. Ambiance is homely and the attention to detail (whether in the information about Plymouth being offered, the apt decor, the cleanliness of the rooms or the quality of the breakfast) is what makes Squires special for its visitors. Great value for money.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2011

We recently visited Plymouth for a couple of days and booked Squires Guest House after reading previous reviews, we were not disappointed as Dave & Paula are the most accommodating hosts we have ever met. Nothing is too much trouble,
The rooms are very well equipped and very well presented. The breakfast was fantastic and the poached eggs are a must.
We look forward to returning to Squires when we visit Plymouth again.
Thank you so much Paula and Dave for a memorable stay.

“Excellent - again and again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Whenever we visit Plymouth for a concert/show we stay at Squires. It offers on-street parking (for a small charge) in a quiet road and is only a few minutes walk into the centre, or the Barbican. Paula and Dave are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are very clean and their breakfasts will keep you going all day! Thank you for looking after us yesterday - Bill Wyman's show was very entertaining!

“What a find!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Have recently stayed at Squires for an overnight visit to the theatre in Plymouth. We were welcomed like old friends by Dave and his wife. They could not have been more attentive. Our room was clean, airy and seemed to have been fairly freshly decorated. The guest house is situated within very easy reach of both The Pavillions and The Theatre Royal. Full marks to Squires, we'll definitely use it again!

Room Tip: Squires is away from the main roads so I think any room will be a good one.

“Excellent and quiet location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

We had not been to a B&B for a long time and had some doubts. However after researching thoroughly on tripadvisor we chose Squires as it had very good reviews. We are really pleased to report that it certainly was a very pleasant experience to stay 2 nights at The Squires. Paula and Dave were extremely helpful with info re parking ( provided us daily with an all-day parking voucher for £2 ), on the restaurants , directions etc. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was full English with lots of toast and various types of teas to choose from. The double-bed room we had on the second floor with an ensuite shower was very comfortable , clean and very quiet and had tea/ coffee making facilities. The rooms are compact but that is normal for B&Bs ( as they are not in the hotel league ) which is reflected in the lower prices that one pays . There were lovely touches such as miniature toiletries e.g shower gel, shampoo etc in the ensuite and lovely soft towels.
They are such a friendly and lovely couple which really explains why they get such high reviews. We shall return in future . Thank you Paula and Dave of Squires for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: There is free Wifi which may work in some of the lower floor rooms.
