I have just recently returned from a 4 night stay at this charming and friendly guesthouse. I travelled from London to Exeter for the first time, where I was visiting a friend due to unforeseen circumstances. As one that rarely travels on their own, I found the hosts Linda and Clive as extremely gracious and comforting as their front garden. They were quick to greet me with such infectious warmth. I found both extremely helpful in informing me of my whereabouts, and was quick in providing me with maps and details I required. The location of the guest house is superbly situated in the centre of the city, only a few moments taxi ride from the main train station. However, I did notice that the central station is even closer. The gentleman helped me with my luggage to my en-suite double room on the first floor. The room was of average size, not the biggest, but certainly not a small room – most certainly it would have been sufficient enough for my late husband and me. I found the room kept to a high standard, extremely clean with a comfy bed, a flat screen free-view TV, the expected kettle with tea and coffee condiments - though I must add I am partial to my milky coffee in which Linda was ever so kind in making and having ready for me in the mornings. I was equally accommodated at Breakfast, where each morning I opted out of the typical English and asked for scrambled egg with toast. It does make a wonderful change for an aging lady to be waited on in the mornings. If one was forced to find any negativity, it would be the traffic from the main road, but for one whom finds herself in bed so early these days this is to be expected, and I did find that noise from the traffic does eventually die down. I will undoubtedly be returning to such a charming guest house with the loveliest hosts, and not forgetting the rich beauty of the City – a stay that was expected to be so daunting was made the more pleasant by Linda and Clive. Thank you ever so much.
