Great break with lovely restaurants and views to die for

Spend 5 nights in Dartmouth recently along with 7 others as we were paticipating in Dartmouth Regatta (Aug 10) and we stayed at the Hill View. The centre of Dartmouth is approx a 5 minute walk downhill, its uphill on the way back but so is everything in Dartmouth! Having said that, it is one of the lower B&B's so is in a very favourable location. The breakfasts are wonderful - we usually choose a full cooked breakfast but the home made porridge and freshly baked croissants were better than any saugages & bacon!
Our hosts made us feel very welcome and couldnt do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. If I'm ever in Dartmouth again I will return to the Hill View.

Stayed for 3 nights recently. Extremely friendly hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Good room, not massive but reasonable. Fairly neutral decor which we like! Bathroom small but good shower. Fresh milk in fridge for tea/coffee a nice touch. Location is good - pleasant 5-10 minute stroll to the waterfront. No parking (you can unload outside )and for no extra charge you get a permit for the main car park in town - bonus is that this also is valid for other council run car parks in South Hams. Breakfast was nice - no hot breafast (other than tea/coffee/toasts) and they do an excellent homemade granola/fruit salad bowl. Only thing is because everything is prepared to order (and they have very high standards!) when everyone arrives at once for breakfast inevitably whoever orders last has quite a wait, even just for tea/coffee. I would have thought it a better idea for guests to help themselves which would be easier work for the hosts I would have thought but maybe it's just personal preference. In another guesthouse with a similar system at least there was a radio playing and newspapers available for people to look at while they waited, rather than staring at each other! Having said that Jonathan was very obliging and if you wanted extra anything, that was fine. I'm just being really picky it's a great litte place and great value. If you really wanted breakfast at a certain time you would just need to let him know and I'm sure he would sort it. 'Green' policy is not enormously evident although there is a list in the room of all the 'green' things that they do.

I stayed at this B&B for 4 days. Jonathan and wife are absolutely the BEST hosts!~ Traveling alone can be difficult- Jonathan gave me each day his suggestions of where to dine, travel to, what routes, places to see and on and on. Each idea was the absolute best. It was the highlight of my 2 week vacation. I was in a double room & you cannot find a cleaner room and the bathroom is a great size. Breakfast was cold & healthy fresh fruit, the best granola, smoothies and breads. These two made staying away from home like I was their best friend. FREEEEE GREAT WI FI. Close to town for walking down to the water front and commercial area. LARGE living/sitting area and so much more. You owe it to yourself to stay here you will not be disappointed. My compliments to them for they really know how to pamper their guests.
