We stayed here 2 August 2011 after being badly let down by another St. Ives B&B the night before. However, 27 The Terrace exceeded our expectations. A lovely, big, clean en suite room with very friendly staff and a huge breakfast which neither of us could finish! An absolute bargain at £70.00 for the room. And only 5 minutes stroll from the town centre, beaches and railway station. We will certainly stay here on our next trip to St. Ives!!

Excellent accomodation, spotlessly clean, rooms well appointed, staff really nice and helpful, breakfast lovely, Though a bit too much! comfortable, welcoming really worth a look now that new owners have recently taken over and redecorating ongoing, but clean and decent until the winter closure when work will be fully completed.. No complaints what so ever.

Plus points:
Great location
Free parking
Clean rooms
Nice bed and bed linen.
Nice toiletries
Our room had a lovely sea view
Lovely helpful staff
Good breakfast
Great massage therapist on sight - book her she is fabulous

Room for improvement:
Public areas (hall / reception / dining room) very old fashioned and need updating
Shower pressure is rubbish
We had a sea view room which was great but very noisey for sleeping - if you are a light sleeper, stay at the back of the house!
Some parts of the room let it down, Iron burn on carpet (in fact whole carpet looked cheap compared to rest of the room), no mirror near a plug to use hair dryer, no blind on window (which it needed as anyone who walked past could see right in!).

Overall a good location, very decent, nice staff but not 5 star standard, more like 3 star.

Myself and a girlfriend were booked into this hotel when working at the St. Ives beer festival. It is set overlooking Porthminster bay, slightly outside the centre of the town. Hotel was clean, comfortable, lovely breakfast, has parking (important in St. Ives). All staff were so lovely and friendly. They even let us leave our car there on the day we checked out so we could sit on the beach for the day. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definatly be back even though I live in Cornwall.
