Have just returned back to Yorkshire after a 3 night post new year stay at this wonderful guest house. The view from the front rooms of the house are breath taking, and the same can be said for the breakfasts. Mike and Gill are a lovely friendly couple, and were great hosts.
Mike is in charge of all the cooking, and god can this man cook! His breakfasts consist of an array of cereals, fruit juices,fresh fruit salads, home baked bread and croissants, and all these are just a starter before the full English cooked breakfast. If you have any room left after that, toast follows along with as much tea and coffee as you like, and the most amazing fresh baked scones you have ever tasted, (sometimes still warm from the oven).
Gill is in charge of Mike ( well you know what they say-- "behind every good man is a good woman"), and is constantly making sure that everybody is happy and well looked after. She is a brilliant host, never looks flustered, keeps the guest house spotless,and has the tiresome task of relaying all the cooking compliments back to Mike in the kitchen, (of which believe me there are plenty).
We have been coming to St Ives for short breaks for many years now, and have fallen in love with its picturesque charm, it is truly a magical place! If you are looking for a magical guest house to accompany it, don't look any further. This is it!!

We stayed at 10 Ocean view, just before Christmas, and it was lovely! warm welcome and very comfortable. Gill and Mike were the most perfect hosts, and made us welcome and comfortable, without being intrusive. Had the room at the top of the house(4) and it was a really good size, and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good, we stay in quite a few bed and breakfast, and this one ranks alongside the best, with homemade bread, and jams, and fruit scones( that mike gave us to take away to eat over Christmas!)

Overall a very good stay, ample parking right outside( a rare amenity in St Ives) a short walk to town( although the return uphill journey is not for the faint hearted!) will most definitely be returning!

I can't praise Mike and Gilly enough. Gorgeous rooms, killer breakfasts, incredible views.This is the perfect retreat in St Ives.

Ten Ocean View is like a home from home with all the comforts, we have been every year for the past five years, Gill and Mike are wonderful hosts, the food is fabulous and beautifully presented with home made bread for breakfast! Lovely fresh and clean rooms (we have stayed in three of them) really comfortable beds with great bedlinen and fluffy towels and of course the all important Molton Brown goodies in the bathrooms. The views are all indeed of the Ocean and, on lucky day, the dolphins ...... we will be back yet again....... Wonderful.
