The lodge is in the perfect location if you are down in Newquay to party. It has a bar next door, and a club next door to that. The room we had overlooked the coast and the sea which was a bonus. The rooms are small and basic, but clean and we had no issues with noise (except for your mates snoring). There is a £50 deposit per person, payable on arrival, which was refunded in full to all (25) of us on checkout day.

Overall, Berties is cheap and cheerful, and worked for us.

We've just had a fab weekend staying at Berties Lodge, 12 girls (in 3 rooms) there for a birthday weekend. The staff were great, had a laugh with them, especially the guy that covered reception on the night shift, on both the Fri and the Sat night (or should i say early hours) he was chatting with us while we drunkenly dossed round in the comfy chairs in reception........

As for the rooms (4 of us in ours), yeah they're too damn small, the sliding bathroom door didn't cover the gap when closed, the mirror and the plug (which was too close to the floor for some plugs) were at opposite ends of the room and there was no kettle, but u know what, we had it sorted:- we had a conveyor belt thing going on for getting ready, we figured out how to get the best privacy possible while in the bathroom, we bought cheap mirror from the pound shop down the road, one of the girls had a little kettle with her and some coffee sachets, we bought a few mugs from the pound shop aswell - sorted.

The view in our room was crap, but in the other two was great - the beds were comfy (i was on a bottom bunk) and it was pretty clean - what more can u ask for, you just want somewhere to get your head down really don't you.

On the morning we were checking out, the evening guy came round and just had a quick look at the room and when we got to reception we got our bonds back for all 3 rooms no problem.

Great location - great weekend - would def go again

Myself and a group of friends stayed here for a weekend! The room was what we expected for the price we paid! It was clean and had everything we needed, if we wanted a 5* place we would have paid for that, but being a budget place it was perfect!
Great location, and the view from the room was amazing looking right over great western beach...
Leanne the lodge manager was extremly helpful at check in, great places were recommened to eat and party the night away. With discounts at the other facilities (nightclub, bar and resturants) we had no reason to go anywhere else! We will defiantly be back to Newquay and will stay here again!

Awful.

We were a party of 9 guys in our early 30's staying for a stag weekend away.
We checked in a bit early, this was no problem but we had to pay a £30 deposit each to cover damages etc... this was returned to us after check-out but to be honest the contents of the room have almost no value at all and seemed unfair. The room was meant to accommodate up to 10 persons but it was only the size of a normal double with 5 bunk beds squeezed in. There was only 1 tiny shower/toilet room for everyone to share. The curtain rail was hanging off, the toilet door had no lock and one of the hinges was broken. The carpet was stained and dirty. There was a tiny TV on the wall and a bin. There was barely any room to turn around. This was simply not good enough! I never want to stay here again and I recommend that you avoid it at all costs. Don't expect to get much sleep here either, the noise was incredibly loud and music was playing most of night and people shouting there mouths off.

On a more positive note, If you’re looking for somewhere decent to eat out my friend McCray highly recommends...Stavros Greek Tarverna...”Simply amazing, my best meal ever! the food was simply delicious” he said.
