we booked to stay here last minute as a group of 3..and had an AMAZING time..the rooms were all really nice..freddie n mark were both really good & friendly..felt quite at home..has a really nice morning room which you can help yourself to breakfast/ hot drinks..and chill threw the day. all over chilled out friendly atmosphere..we LOVED it..will definately be coming back!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the greenhouse and had a lovely time. Our room (the twin) was a little pokey but apparently is the only small room. Mark did offer the room of 4 to us as it was unoccupied over that weekend as he saw that we thought it was maybe a bit small but in the end we stuck with the twin as we thought is was cosy. The staff were great and could not do enough for us. The sun shone and we spent most of the weekend on the patio sunbathing. We have stayed in hostels in Newquay before and have found most of them noisey and some dirty, this hostel was the most relaxing and clean so far.

I have just stayed at The Green House with a large group for a long weekend and our stay was made perfect by our smiling hosts, mark and freddy. Not only did the brothers organise surfing lessons and a heavily discounted coasteering lesson :) But they managed to get us a discount at a very good restaurant on one of Newquay's fine beaches!! The hostel itself was clean, quiet and relaxing-perfect for people wanting a quieter break interested in activities as opposed to getting hammered and lazing about all day...

Dont know how any1 could give this place a bad review. Mark and Freddie (the brothers who run it) are so laid back they're horizontal. When we arrived we were given plenty of breathing space to decompress after the 5hr drive!! Went for a quick drink in the beach-front Walkabout and then had a chat with Mark once we came back. These guys have lived in Newquay all their lives and know everything u need to know.

The place is like a 3 story house converted so it has a really homely feeling to it. Our room was on the top floor, in the eves. They are basic, comfy and clean, thats all you need. We had 2 sets of bunk beds, also with a mattress under the one bed, so enough room for five people. Our room had a sink in the room and a good shower cubicle just outside so we had privacy (the other rooms have cubicles in the room) we also had a small hanging space and shelving for clothes. The toilets are shared between the house (3 of them there) and our one was situated two sets of steps down (not huge flighs of stairs, just the next floor down), these were all clean and tidy.

The breakfast in the morning was again basic, but what would normally have a home anyway? All cereals, milk, bread, butter, spreads, juice laid out for you and again, noone on your back, you just get on with it. The sitting room was big and light with a tv and computer for you to use, and there is a pool table there so if you get bored and its raining outside there's still something to do....

The place is on a hill (not too steep) and is only a 5-10 min walk to the beginning of the strip, u'll first see Bertie's bar and club right in front of you, all the food places and a Wetherspoons to the right, and shops and clubs to the left, this also leads to all the bays including Fistral beach (about a 25 min casual walk).

One note to point out is that the place isnt sign-posted but the guys gave us their mobile numbers when we booked and we kept in contact the whole drive down via txt, letting them know when we would be arriving and they were more than helpful in directing us when we got close.

The morning we left we gave the guys a ring and Freddie came and had a chat before we set off and gave us the bond back! There's really no other way to describe this place than you feel like you're just staying with your mates for a few days, the guys make you feel really welcome and you can chat like you've know them for years. Would definately recommend it and wish the guys well. :)
