we stayed at the barrowfield over the august bank holiday.rooms were clean towels ect.food was quite good.ballroom very good.bathrooms need up dateing we had three rooms all with showers over the baths to get your electricity was like from 2nd world war!!! .restaurant young lady did not look very happy in her job specially if you asked for more butter!!!!no trips out specially on a sunday when places were very hard to get to .august bank holiday and the bar calling last orders at 10.30!!!the staff at this hotel seem to do alot of shoulder shrugging!!i think we will by-pass this hotel next time

We stayed in The Barrowfield in February this year with out two young sons and were very happy with the hotel and service, however when we returned during August this year it was a different story. Our room was very small with little storage space and with a three year old and a small baby this was very difficult. The staff had contradictory advice about procedures in the hotel such as the way in which drinks were charged to the room. Staff were on occasion rude and impolite. The food was as expected, a set menu each evening and a separate childrens menu, however there was no facilities for catering for very young children.
Overall we were very disappointed as the hotel had seemed very different out of season, therefore I don't think we will go there again.

We enjoyed our stay, very helpful staff. its only failings were the quality of the food, my friends mother-in-law had cauliflower cheese for her evening meal, we had never seen anything more disgusting. Dissapointed with the bar opening times 6pm - 11pm
