“Don't be put off, try for yourself, it's not all bad!!”

Just had a 5th Christmas Party night here.

The hotel is a bit eighties, the rooms tired and in need of redecoration but our room has always been clean and comfortable.
The beds and pillows are comfy and the linen crisp and clean. The heating was on continuous from our arrival until departure with the option to turn it down.

The bar prices were good with very competitive happy hour prices :)

The food was excellent, hot and tasty and the restaurant manager and his waitress were very efficient and polite, as were all the staff. Breakfast was also fantastic and cooked to order with cold choices of juice and cereal available.
We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay here again.

In all my years of coming here, I have seen many rooms and none as bad as described in other reviews. You get what you pay for and this hotel is great for price and walking distance to Newquay, what more could you want? :)

Room Tip: Seafront rooms are nice for the view .

After reading several reviews on here and being some what anxious about staying, our party of 8 had a fabulous stay. The staff were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble. The restaurant manager and waitress were outstanding, the food was tasteful and hot. Our rooms although basic were very clean and warm. With a good refurbishment this hotel with its great staff would rival the top hotels in Newquay......stayed 3/12/2011

“Narrowcliff Hotel Newquay Turkey & Tinsel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

My daughter and I have just returned from a 5 day National Holidays break at the Narrowcliff Hotel. Before I went after reading the reviews I rang up National Holidays to complain. However after a 12 hour bus journey to the hotel, we were given our hotel keys, we went upstairs to our room expecting to come down and compain, however we had nothing to complain about, we walked into room 125 to find it a lot larger room then some of the reviews had said, the room was clean it had 2 bedrooms and both bath/shower, yes if you looked I suppose you could have found little faults, but as previous reviews have stated this is due to age of the hotel. The breakfast and evening meals were good with a good selection on the menu, our waiter Ernie was great he served the whole hotel by himself he was always pleasant and always served our meals with a smile, we could not fault him at all, I heard he even did the bingo in the evening, the entertainment was ok. I would return again to the hotel if I happen to be in the area and I am able to get room 125. The evening hotel receptionist was pleasant and always helpful, we can not say as to the daytime lady as we were always out. Over all very pleased with the hotel for the price we payed.

“golfing Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

A party of 6 enjoyed an excellent 5 days with food and service way above the expected levels. After reading reviews was a little concerned but would not bet against it being the best value for money in cornwall. Some people pay a price to stay in 5* once in their life then compare everything (but the price) to it from then on. If you want 5* pay for it.

“Great Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

Had a lovely stay here with my husband and two of our friends in September, a very warm welcome, nice room, clean and tidy, lovely breakfast, and really good value for money. Did not have dinner here as we were booked B&B, but heard good things from other guests. Moved onto St Ives afterwards where we paid twice the money for somewhere that actually wasn't quite as nice, although St Ives itself was well worth visiting, very pretty. We have already booked to come back to the Narrowcliff for my husbands birthday in May next year. Will also be going back to the Lewinnick Lodge for his birthday dinner as we all really enjoyed it there too.
