“Hidden gem - great menu, lovely pub”

We visited for an impromptu lunch on a long walk. Pub is idyllic and had a great menu with plenty of locally sourced ingredients - service was very friendly too.

Only point I would make is that they don't do "normal" pub grub I.e. standard sandwiches, baguettes etc - but their Club sandwich (unexpectedly contained cheese) and locally raised pork pie ploughmans were both delicious, as were the chips!

Altogether a good find - and a nice stop on a big walk!

Dog friendly - always a bonus :)

“Good Food”

Recently had a meal with about 11 other friends at this restaurant.
Was celebrating a friend's birthday.
Staff was polite and service was prompt.

what a brillant surprise stopped in for a sunday roast couldnt believe how lovely it was really couldnt fault it could have done with a bit more veg that wasnt a problem the waitress brought me some more at no extra cost will be back next week for sure

Well worth a visit. Had such a good meal we went back the next day. Great wood burner, good service, tasty food and generous portions. Highly recommended. Book to make sure you get a table.

“Good food but not very accommodating”

Have eaten here a couple of times. The food is usually of a high standard but staff are not always very accommodating . Be aware they do stop lunch at 2.30. we arrived at 2 .25 and were told that they had already stopped lunch, not even a sandwich was available. It is nicely situated with some beautiful country views.
