In early December we stayed at the cottages at the Headland Hotel. It was a week of heavy snow and ice in Britain but we couldn't have been in a better place than in the Headland Cottages. We had a great view over Fistral Beach from our living room and bedroom with a gas fireplace to warm the cottage. The kitchen was modern and well set up. The cottage was clean with a very well done, slightly modern, take on a seaside cottage.
Looking out at the Headland Hotel was another treat although moving the parking lot would have made it completely perfect. We had breakfasts at the Hotel restaurant which has a huge window overlooking the sea and enjoyed sitting in the bar and rooms in the evening.
It was winter and off season so it was perfect for us for a quiet, romantic weekend walking by the sea and spending quiet nights in the cottage. I imagine that Newquay is very different in the summer and a lot more of an assault to the senses but the Headland seems to be close to everything and yet still secluded enough, on it's own at the end of the beach.
There was nothing negative I could say about the cottage and the hotel. If you want your own little cottage overlooking the sea and beach with a remote feel while being close to it all I would recommend the Headland Cottages.
