We came back for the 2nd time in a year as Newquay is my favourite UK break.
My boyfriend had arranged with the staff, ahead of time, to propose to me. They were amazing, kept everything quiet, worked with him really well and even text him to let them know everything was ready for us to come back to.
He propsed, i said yes and the staff were just wondeful. they had written on the bed in rose petals 'marry me' set up some flowers and some towel swans and couldn't do enough to help us.
Once again it was an amazing stay - even up to that point and i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
It is expensive but the food, drinks, staff, views and atmosphere are fantastic.
I am excited to see the new facilities when they open and hope it doesnt push the prices up too much.
Unfortunately we will only be back once this year - hopefully for our wedding anniverary on the 31st December!

This is the fourth time I have stayed at the Headland in the last four years, 3 of the 4 times staying in one of the cottages. They really are a piece of Fistral heaven. This time we stayed over New Year in Seaspray 5 with stunning sea views. The cottages are truly 5 star, beautifully finished, spacious and comfortable.
We ate in the Terrace restaurant on 2 occasions, perfect to dodge the storms and run across to the hotel from our cottage. The food was excellent. The atmosphere in the Terrace is very relaxed, so ideal for families.
I have read some of the reviews on this site that talk about the formality of the hotel, but I disagree. The building is certainly imposing, but all the staff are very relaxed and friendly, and couldn't be more helpful.
This is the first time we travelled with a dog, having acquired a puppy in the autumn, so the first time I have looked at a holiday from a dog owners persective. The Headland is very dog friendly. Chews and a cover for the sofa were provided (and poo bags!). Fistral Beach allows dogs, so ideal for walks.
I really recommend this for a relaxing break.............can't wait to book and go again!

We spent New Year at this excellent privately owned Hotel with it's superb location. The food was wonderful, the staff very friendly, the entertainment just right. The girl 'band' on New Years Eve were really good singing a mixture of popular songs that got all ages up to dance.
The Hotel is VERY doggy friendly, the dogs are made most welcome by the staff. We had a real Christmas tree in our room (decorated & with lights)!
Afternoon tea is fantastic, nothing better after a long walk along Fistral Beach with the dogs.
Prior to this holiday, my husband had been very ill and at one point thought we would be unable to go, so glad we went it was such a tonic.
We have rebooked for next New Year and for a long weekend in June. I strongly recommend it.

We stayed at The Headlands for the Xmas break from the 23rd-27th December. From the minute we got there everything was what we expected, Perfect! We were upgraded to an ocean view room, which was an added bonus. It was a lovely room with lovely view. The food in the restaurant was also excellent, including breakfast. The hotel was decorated beautifully with several xmas trees around the hotel. There were a mixture of guests, including families and many dogs which made it feel like home from home. The staff were ALL efficient, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We also had a little hamper of local goodies left in our room for xmas day! Various games were put on in the evenings and on xmas eve there was and champagne black tie reception, which was lovely.
We have stayed at The Headlands in the past so knew it would meet our expectations and will definetely be going back.
