Having read the last review on here, I could not disagree more that the hotel is just held together with quick fix workmanship. I thought very much to the contrary, that the hotel was BRILLIANT. Personally, I thought the decor was clean and bright and the room way clean and tidy and the bed linen smelt lovely and fresh. Well located for a short walk into town with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs. Duncan (the owner) could not have made us feel more welcome with his warmth and friendly smile. The breakfast was great and the staff were really lovely. I was there with a group of 8 other friends and we all loved the place. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Seemed like an okay place at first but it did not take long to see the place is held together with quick fix workmanship to make money and will most likely only be around for a season or two. Not too bad for a cheap nights sleep but not a place to call home.

I stayed here with 2 friends for a long weekend , the hotel was very clean and brightly decorated , rooms were very modern. Duncan (the owner ) was very helpful and friendly, we also had a surf lesson arranged by the hotel , which was great fun. Breakfasts were good too , choices of cerals / toast and something cooked.

Overall highly recommended.

We stayed at the Hillcrest last year for a week-a group of 12. The owner,Duncan, was the perfect host,helping to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing. The rooms were very nice,the breakfasts excellent and we are now planning our return visit for 2010. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
