Excellent value hotel with good bar, pool table and breakfast facilities. Great for groups/parties and ideally located near harbour, beach and nightlife.

“Lovely staff, great location - RECOMMENDED!”

I can't rate the Sunnyside hotel highly enough, the best thing about it were the staff who were all super-friendly and helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a great weekend. The rooms are also clean and of a decent size + everything was excellent value for money. We also booked in for the half day surfing lesson which was really fun and great as the hotel was so close to the beach! Thanks for an amazing stay I definitely wouldn't choose to go anywhere else when I come back to Newquay!

But a big thanks also from me to the team of 2011 (this being our last review of the year). Our staff have once again proved to be a fantastic asset to the Hotel, and something I am extremely grateful for. Your efforts are equally very much appreciated. Cheers guys- you make the hotel what it is!

“Do some research first and you'll be fine!!!”

I arranged a stag do for 10 guys in July 2011, with Hotel Sunnyside recommended by Eclipse Leisure in Brighton. It's the perfect choice for groups, the young and the young at heart! This hotel isn't about luxury, space, exciting little trinkets on your pillow etc.... Instead it does EXACTLY what it says on the tin (well, website) VERY well.
The staff and location are excellent, as are the rooms. Yes, they're small, but anyone who has done their homework should know that anyway. This is all about a place to crash with a laid back athmosphere - anyone who moans about deposits, noise, lack of car parking or having no 'proper facilities' should have looked on Trip Advisor first. Well done to everyone at Sunnyside for being refreshingly different. We'll be back!

A super review from lifestyle-av.

We have had such an amazing 2011 in terms of online guest reviews, that we often feel we could be in danger of prospective guests misinterpreting the hotel as something it's not. This review underlines exactly what the hotel is about. And for the reviewer to add that we do this VERY well is absolutely fantastic.

We understand that not every guest will read all the information on our website or the emails that are sent to them after booking. This is a shame, but it's a fact. We do all we can to make every single person who makes a booking at Hotel Sunnyside fully aware of how we operate. We would never knowingly mis-sell the hotel or try to be something that we're not. We're proud of our style of accommodation and of our 'pay for what you need' concept, and we're eager to highlight this, rather than hide behind fake photos or fancy, pretentious literature.

To be referred to as 'refreshingly different' is so very pleasing for the whole team. Thanks lifestyle-av. We'll be sure to make reference to your review again in future management responses!

Loved this hotel, chic modern décor and very tidy rooms. Newquay a very fun town too.

I booked here via groupon from myself and my husband. It was a fab deal with a surfing lesson thrown.
yes the rooms were basic but this was far outwayed by the location, friendliness and relaxed aptmosphere of the place.
Sandy was lovely and very helpful nothing was too much trouble and Kirsty worked very hard from cleaning windows to serving breakfast in the morning.
I will most definately stay here again as the access to the surf is superb. once the car is parked you do not have to get back into it until you go home (unless you are sight seeing that is). If you are looking for a relaxed stay and somewhere to just sleep and get changed this is the place. Walking ditsnce from the cinema and all the shops and resturants in Newquay
