“Great if you just want somewhere basic to sleep, no frills.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2011

I was on a kayaking course in Falmouith and this B+B was just right. There didn't seem to be anyone in charge who was resident. This means that check in is limited to a couple of hours in the evening when someone is present to welcome guests. I'm sure this is flexible if you call ahead. Strangest of all was the 1/2 time window for breakfast (8:30-9:00). This suited us fine but might not have been so great for a more relaxed holiday.

Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and reasonably comfortable. En suite shower rooms, tea and coffee, TV etc. Breakfast was good. A five minute walk from the maratime museum and the start of the main shopping street in Falmouth.

“disgusting”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

have just spent three nights at the penwarren were do i start, tried to phone someone when we arrived there were three numbers could not get hold of any of them we got there at 3.45 and they would not let us in kept us out the front when we were let in and went to our rooms they were on different floors my husband and i were with my mum and dad and the rooms had been booked together, we had a twin room one bed was at one end of the room and the other was at the other end we could not even see one and other, there was hair in both the sink and the shower, i tripped on a rug which was placed near the sink and under the rug the carpet was threadbere the window had been pushed open as far as it would go and was covered in bird poo. found the staff very unfriendly they were only there at breakfast and the atmosphere was very strained felt that if you asked for any thing you were being a pest my mum had booked the room for us as a treat so we tried not to show our disappointment but if we had been on our own we would have left after one night because we were out during the day with our family we enjoyed our time in falmouth but not the penwarren.

“Good Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2010

Breakfasts were the highlight of this B&B – nice cooked breakfast; good quality bacon etc. Very pleasant. We were on a diving trip and needed to have an early breakfast so we could get the tides right. This was no problem. Bedrooms were comfortable. The light in our bathroom didn't work and this was not replaced even after we told them at breakfast but that is a minor gripe at an otherwise good B&B.

Off street parking is available but it is down a very narrow side road – pull your wing mirrors in!!! Luckily we didn't have any bumps but there are marks showing others had not been so lucky. Close to the centre of Falmouth so very handy. Would go back.

“A great little B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2007

What a delightful little family-run B&B! Stayed here for three nights over a holiday weekend, in a double-room with en-suite. No complaints at all about the room, nor about the B&B in general, only a short walk from Falmouth Town Centre, and from the beach, and from Pendennis Castle.

They took care to ensure that, as far as possible, the breakfast was all organic/fairtrade/free-range/etc., this isn't just a gimmick, you're left with the impression that they really cared about things like this, and are more than just any old B&B.

I'd stay here the next time I come to Falmouth, and would recommend it to others.
