“Great service, wonderful breakfast.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Put simply, the welcome was enthusiastic, room a decent size with a ensuite which was bright and clean.

Off street parking was an added bonus as Victoria Lodge is situated on a busy road, so if you want a quiet room, best request one at the rear of the house.

Fantastic breakfast with wide range of fruit and cereals, followed by an excellent fry-up.

Good people, good service and food. Good choice.

“what lovely hosts/immeculate accommodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

What can I say from booking this guest house for my daughter and her husband to them returning after a fabulous time there the hosts couldnot have been more welcoming. I asked for flowers in the room as it was my daughters birthday. They went well over expectations. They decorated the roomand provided a free bottle of wine in the most classy and understated way which delighted my daughter and Ben her husband. The room was spotlessly clean and immaculate. The bathroom also, It was large, warm and inviting. Their breakfast in the morning was second to none, filling, beautifully cooked and presented with immaculate pristine crockery, cutlery and environment. Their comments "Forget the Grosvenor this was better by far friendly and inviting - can we go again next week"!!!! Well done and thankyou for making my daughters birthday so enjoyable to quote her " Who wants presents when we can have such a lovely stay at Victoria Lodge".

Room Tip: No tips needed its just lovely.

“Warm welcome, great room, smashing breakfast - 5 Star”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Really warm welcome on arrival and helpful and considerate hosts. The room was excellent - clean, well decorated and a good size. The breakfast was excellent - generous portions of quality ingredients set us up for the day.
A really good find in a convenient part of Chester. Will definitely use again.

“Lovely facilities - lovely hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

My friend and I were made most welcome at 'Victoria Lodge', and the beds and breakfast left nothing to be desired. The house is spotless and tastefully decorated.

“Probably the best B and B in Chester.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We have stayed at quiet a few accommodation providers in Chester, particularly the Hoole area and we have to say that Victoria Lodge is probably the best.
Right from the friendly greeting at the door, to the fantastic breakfast and our cheery goodbyes, we felt that we had finally found a place we can return to time and time again.

When my partner booked the room, I was not really enthusiastic about our stay. I'd come to expect some pretty mediocre accommodation in Chester and such were my feelings of unexcitment I left it up to my partner to check the place out on TA. and book it.

The front garden was very pretty, with lovely hangiing baskets and tubs of flowers to greet you. Richard and his wife were welcoming too, we felt as though we'd known them for years.
Compared to some greetings we have had, this was a very pleasant change.

We were shown to our room by Richard, which was a nice touch as many places tell you how many floors up your room is and expect you to find it yourself. The room itself was very pleasant, with lovely decor and well appointed furniture of a high standard. Our bed was beautifully made, and very, very comfortable. The En-suite was clean and it was good to see a selection of toweling not to mention toiletries should be have needed them. On the whole the acccommodation is of a very high standard and an ideal place for rest.
A far cry from what we have come to expect in Chester.

Breakfast was a feast to behold! There was an amazing selcetion of fruit, with plenty of choices for cereals and fresh yoghurts. Then came their famous Main breakfast! If you enjoy breakfast, make sure you do not have a very heavy meal the night before as you will not be able to manage it all. My request for scrambled eggs on toast with bacon, was accepted and welcomed and served beautifully. Both Richard and his wife were attentive and friendly, which was a real joy.
We will be returning to Victoia Lodge again and can thoroughly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for restoring my faith in being able to find a bed and breakfast in Chester that ticks all the right box's.

Room Tip: Previous reviews have mentioned the traffic noise at night. We did not find it a problem because our...
