We have stayed at quiet a few accommodation providers in Chester, particularly the Hoole area and we have to say that Victoria Lodge is probably the best.
Right from the friendly greeting at the door, to the fantastic breakfast and our cheery goodbyes, we felt that we had finally found a place we can return to time and time again.
When my partner booked the room, I was not really enthusiastic about our stay. I'd come to expect some pretty mediocre accommodation in Chester and such were my feelings of unexcitment I left it up to my partner to check the place out on TA. and book it.
The front garden was very pretty, with lovely hangiing baskets and tubs of flowers to greet you. Richard and his wife were welcoming too, we felt as though we'd known them for years.
Compared to some greetings we have had, this was a very pleasant change.
We were shown to our room by Richard, which was a nice touch as many places tell you how many floors up your room is and expect you to find it yourself. The room itself was very pleasant, with lovely decor and well appointed furniture of a high standard. Our bed was beautifully made, and very, very comfortable. The En-suite was clean and it was good to see a selection of toweling not to mention toiletries should be have needed them. On the whole the acccommodation is of a very high standard and an ideal place for rest.
A far cry from what we have come to expect in Chester.
Breakfast was a feast to behold! There was an amazing selcetion of fruit, with plenty of choices for cereals and fresh yoghurts. Then came their famous Main breakfast! If you enjoy breakfast, make sure you do not have a very heavy meal the night before as you will not be able to manage it all. My request for scrambled eggs on toast with bacon, was accepted and welcomed and served beautifully. Both Richard and his wife were attentive and friendly, which was a real joy.
We will be returning to Victoia Lodge again and can thoroughly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for restoring my faith in being able to find a bed and breakfast in Chester that ticks all the right box's.
