I booked to stay here for one Saturday night in January for me and my fiance's 10 yr anniversary. I had read some fab reviews so thought it would be a nice treat. When I checked availabilty it only showed twin rooms instead of double so on my request I added that a double room instead of a twin would be preferable as booking for our anniversary. When we checked in and got to our room I was pleasantly surprised that my request had been honoured along with a complimentary happy anniversary cake which was a lovely surprise and certainly not expected. The room was lovely, nice bathroom, very clean and comfortable. We used the spa facilities which were included in the price and recommended. We went for a meal and a few drinks in Chester and came back just before midnight. The bar was still open so it was nice to have a further night cap before retiring to bed. The receptionist and staff were very pleasant throughout our stay and I would definately go back again. We received the Doubletree cookie on arrival which was delicious and a nice touch!
I spent two nights here recently for a conference. The fountain that dominates the entrance drive is majestic and the buildings generally are fascinating, evocative and well-designed. Reception staff were really welcoming, and checking in includes a delicious fresh Doubletree cookie...what a lovely touch! Conferencing facilities were excellent and all the staff..especially the splendid concierge Roberto, and David on the conference team...are friendly and courteous. Food is very good, and there is a Marco Pierre White restaurant at the hotel. Staff confided in me that he visits quite often, and, surprise surprise, his moods can be changeable!! My room was spotless, comfy, lovely bathroom...and just down the corridor from the Presidential Suite...maybe next time! All in all, the Hilton experience remains unblemished...quality and care, together with a genuine friendliness. Long may it remain so. Thanks to Hilton staff, delegates and conference contributors for helping to make it such a good two days.
I wrongly thought there was a DVD in room. We asked if we could borrow one and they kindly sent one up without charge. The room was big enough for 2 people and clean.
The downside was breakfast. Our room info said it was served until 10.30am. We arrived downstairs at 9.45am to be informed breakfast finished at 10am...We joined a very large queue awaiting to be seated. After 5 minutes we hadn't moved so decided to skip breakfast at hotel and had it in town instead!
I booked the doubletree for my girlfriend & i for her birthday,i thought i'd push the boat out & book a suite.
We arrived & were told our room would be 5 minutes, when we entered the room, there were 2 glasses of sparkling wine awating,so we figured out the minimal delay was so the glasses could be poured!
After unpacking & sussing out all the bits,we went for a drink & then for a meal at the Marco Pierre White restaurant, where the service & food excelled.
After reading someone elses review before we arrived,we packed some swimwear for the morning & we weren't dissapointed, the pool area certainly had the wow factor!
The only drawback was that our stay was for just one night,so we are already planning to come back for a couple of nights in the summer!
