We stayed here for a friday night before heading into Chester for a day of christmas shopping. Both Angela and her husband were very welcoming - especially to our 7 year old daughter. Spacious family room with a flatscreen tv and dvd player. The main bed was two singles zipped together but (unlike some hotels we've stayed in with two beds made into one where you fall down the middle!), we couldn't tell the difference - very comfortable nights sleep, lovely and warm in the room. Proper single bed for our daughter rather than a z-bed that you often find in family rooms. Good location for the centre of Chester and there's a hungry horse pub round the corner - not the poshest of cuisine but fine for a quick dinner if you have a ravenous child! Breakfast was good and overally, great value. We'd have no hesitation in coming back or recommending Shenley Lodge

I must say we were really suprised, we stayed in chester in february at an awful hotel so we were a little apprehensive, but I must say that any apprehension we had melted as we entered. It is a small homely hotel that feels like it has a heart. We actually stayed in 2 rooms during our stay and they were both lovely, large spacious, character and most importantly for me really comfortable beds. They serve cereal and a full english breakfast to yuor requirements. I honestly couldnt fault it, they even went beyond the call of duty and gave us a lift to a local resturant which they recommend which turned out to be excellant. It is the first hotel where I actually feel the owners care that you enjoy your stay!! Thank you see you next year :)

This B&B is in an ideal location for a visit to Chester as well within walking distance to town.
We had the king family room in the back of the house so was very spacious & quiet.
Breakfast was excellent and well served. The only complaint was that after making tea in the room we found lipstick on the cup. Yuck. Not acceptable but that was the only let down.

Went to Chester for the Races, found Shenley Lodge on Laterooms.com. i phoned prior to our stay to confirm it, the lady on the phone was really helpful, we mentioned we might be down a bit earlier than check in and she said she would do all she can to get the room ready.
On arrival she greeted us by our first names and made us feel really welcome. the room was lovely, the bed was really comfortable and had everything you need.
you get your own key so can come and go as you please, we came back in around midnight.
the following morning the breakfast was good, full english, not greasy and tasted nice.
overall a great stay well worth the money.
