This hotel did what it said on the tin. Good value bog-standard accommodation. I stayed over Christmas and the hotel was not full, and hence was quiet and peaceful. One downside was that when I arrived the heating in the room was off, so it felt very chill. And the mattress was very cold too ... took a while for it, and me, to warm up in the night. The bathroom was spotlessly clean, and there was a kettle with tea and coffee provided.
There's free Wi-Fi in the restaurant, so don't bother to pay the £5 to use it in your room. And be warned that you can't use up the £5 in dribs and drabs. Once you activate it, that's it ... one use only.
The parking was good - I always found a space under cover. And the hotel is easy to find off the A14. However, there are no facilities within walking distance, and it's quite a way to the city centre. There is a stop for the new guided bus nearby, however, which takes you into Cambridge.
I took my own breakfast ... there's a Tescos at the Milton turn off - the next junction along from the Travelodge ... you can stock up there.
I found the staff always very friendly and helpful too.
A good budget hotel option for Cambridge, which is now an expensive city. I'd definitely stay here again.
Room Tip: I had a ground floor room facing the housing estate and it was very quiet.
