This place is a gem, nestled deep in the beautiful English countryside. It is also one of the few places near Bath that will allow one night stays at the weekend, a boon if you cannot escape for two nights. We stayed in Room 2 which has a shower and no bath but what a shower - huge and powerful, loved it. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, the room clean, "boutique-y" feeling and a good size, there was also a balcony to enjoy the glorious views. The evening meal was great and the resturant packed, a testament to how good this place is as it is hard to find. Happily as a resident you get a reserved table, otherwise it would have been a long wait! Breakfast was absolutely wonderful, the best I've eaten so far in an hotel.
However there are a few "buts"... The restaurant smells wafted directly into the room so having the window open during cooking times was unpleasant as was sitting on the balcony. There was nowhere to plug in the kettle - it had to remain on the floor. This also mean that using a hairdryer and straightening irons was a contorted affair and there is no dressing table in this room. These are minor gripes but perhaps a high level plug and extra table with mirror should have been provied - it would certainly have made the room more easy to use.
Those moans aside I would definately return here - it is a glorious place at a remarkable price - but I would avoid room 2!
