I have been staying at The Cumberland Guest House since October 2010. The food, room, service, assistance, information and everything that I have experienced here has been managed extremely friendly, excellently and efficiently. I have found The Cumberland Guest House to meet everything I need whilst working in Bristol and would highly recommend it for a weekend or holiday stay too. It truly has been a home away from home for me. Bristol's Gold Mine!

Stayed at the Cumberland last week for a girls weekend, had a fantastic time, the landlady was great, helped us out with where to go and what to do. The breakfasts were lovely and just what we all needed after a good night in the centre (which is only 10 mins away, about £7 by taxi) The rooms we had were large and had own showers, really clean, asked for extra tea and towels which the landlady happily let us have. Really good value for money, £110 between 5 of us! Can't wait to come back :)

Hmm not sure (after reading previous reviews below) these people had there eyes open or not, we just recently stayed here & we both agreed totally fantastic!

Extremely close to Bristol airport (even though we got lost on way) the land lady was more than helpful with accurate directions when we had to call

Breakfast was HUGE & certainly set us up for the rest of the day, room was plentiful & very nice views of Ashton gate park I believe? Also we could see the Brunel suspension bridge

Overall both agreed excellent stay & will gladly stay again & recommend to friends & family

Just back after my second year in a row staying here. This was my second time using this guesthouse as my base for the Cheltenham Festival as it is ideally located close to the main railway station and the train is only around an hour each way. Far cheaper than most hotels in Bristol and Cheltenham is out as prices go through the roof during the festival. It's clean, comfortable and quiet, I had a double room with en-suite at the top of the house, plenty of room and cleaned to a high standard every day, I must give a special mention to the breakfasts! They set you up for the day and I never had to eat while at Cheltenham racecourse where the prices for a small sandwich are scandalous! All in all I would recommend this guesthouse, landlady is extremely friendly and the house has a real home feel to it. I've already booked for next year again. I had thought of staying somewhere else this year and found some old reviews for this place which were very bad. Asking the landlady about these I was told that was under the old management so maybe Trip Advisor should consider changing these? My experience was an extremely good one on both occasions.
