Stayed at Marriott Hotel Bristol City Centre on 6th February to attend Katherine Jenkins Concert. Staff very helpful, bedrooms well appointed, large and clean and excellent breakfast. Would stay again.
We stayed at The Marriot for 1 night with our 2 children. It was our first stay at The Marriot. having stayed at Premier Inn, The Grand Thistle and Radisson Blu, all in Bristol. We arrived at 7pm and had reservations at Jamie Oliver's for our daughters birthday so we left our bags and headed out. On first impressions we were happy with the large room with 2 double beds. We were on floor 6.
On returning to the room My husband and I had the bed facing the tv, our youngest is 5 so we put him to bed, he was soon asleep. Our daughter shared with our little one. As hubby and I got in to bed we found we rolled in to the middle of the bed together! There was a very bad dip in the middle of the bed, making it impossible to sleep separately! The following morning I was surprised to read the brochure in the room regarding the fabulous beds at The Marriott, I should think they would check the beds on a regular basis! I have to say that the pillows were the best I have found in a hotel! I really don't like a hard pillow and the ones at The Marriott are lovely and soft.
Our youngest likes a bath, But the bath in our room was so slow, it took 20 minutes to run and it wasn't very hot. The shower wasn't any better and I decided against trying to wash my hair under the dribble of water that came from the shower head!
Breakfast was very busy, the porridge had run out. I asked for some more and after 10 minutes a fresh pot was bought out, unfortunately it wasn't very hot! My husband enjoyed his fried breakfast and the children enjoyed cereals and croissants.
All in all we enjoyed our night away! If it hadn't been so late when We returned to the room we would have complained about the bed but our little one was asleep by the time we got into bed!
Stayed one night while attending a charity event at the hotel.
Amazing beds in the twin rooms, huge! Bedrooms were clean and well equipped - Iron, hairdryer, tea/coffee, trouser press etc.
Very good gym and spa facilities, nice coffee shop and bar area and the staff were polite.
No free Wi-fi though.
Parking was free with the room in the multi storey above the hotel,.
Only let down was the breakfast buffet, shocking! A tasteless pile of cold food, I am not fussy but it really was inedible.Don't waste your money, go to the shopping complex near by.
Visited in November and found this hotel to be og good standard. Good menu for dinner and a good wine selection. Access to shopping and all of the center of Bristol. Also only a mile from the station and trains to Bath.
I have stayed here on a number of occasions over recent years and my impression of this hotel has improved considerably over time. The staff are all polite and friendly - keen to help and check to see if customers are happy.
I had an executive room on the 9th floor - it was very clean and comfortable with bathrobes and slippers and a very comfy bed. One tip though - if you are someone who needs to either sit down to dry your hair - or you take a long time to dry it, then I suggest that you tyake your own hairdryer as the one in the room is attached to the inside of the wardrobe in the entrance corridor of the room (although there is a mirror on the door of the wardrobe).
Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of healthy options available.
