“Great for the airport”

We stayed in this guest house before catching an early morning flight. We found it a bit difficult to find the turn in as it was dark and the sign is only visible as you pass, rather than from a distance. The worst negative was the lack of a reception. We almost walked into the farm house which was actually someone's house! There was a note on the door with a mobile phone number to ring while we stood out in the cold night waiting. However the gentleman who came out to meet us was very friendly and welcoming. The room was on the ground floor and was very nice. It was obviously a family room with a second bedroom. The bathroom was particularly well designed and I loved the shower. Although near to the airport, there was no air traffic noise. The only disturbance was from the shared door which was right outside the bedroom. Try to get an upstairs room if possible. The bagged breakfast was a nice touch and they obviously know that their market will be happy to leave quickly and are grateful for a little bite before they go or to take with them. The transfer service was ideal, flexible and parking was very reasonable. Great value, great service.

Room Tip: Try to get a room upstairs to avoid unwanted noise.

“Any nearer to the airport and you would be on it!”

Arrived in the dark had no trouble finding it. Large electric gates are opened to let you in and we were met by a man who showed us to our room and took our money. I asked for a receipt as we were staying another night on our return - this was not a problem. The room was small but perfectly adequate. The bed was comfy and all the facilities ( especially the fabulous shower) good. Our car was parked in outside the building so we were able to put things back in the morning and get things out during the evening. The breakfast pack was ideal, set out in a clear zipped plastic bag ( just the right size for your lotions at the airport if you had forgotten to pack them separately). We were taken to the airport in around 5 minutes as the back gates they use were still locked.
Would recommend.

“Don't stay here if you need to sleep!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

After arriving at acorns we were greeted by a man who showed us to our family room on the ground floor, this all looked nice, clean and tidy. We all went to bed and that was when we all were awakened at 3 am by upstairs. Everytime they walked around the floor boards Creaked so bad the noise was horrendous. It was a shame because the location is close to the airport, but I could never stay here again. Next time holiday inn it is!

“OMG!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

This is possibly the worst B&B My family and I have ever stayed in and it has traumatised us!We arrived in the early hours and the transfer driver was very polite but the vehical was dirty and falling apart. We had booked the family room which is on the ground floor overlooking a courtyard packed full of cars at least 50 if not more.Because we were on the ground floor we were unable to get any sleep as there is no sound proofing and everytime someone in the upper rooms showered, got out of bed, turned on the kettle or TV,it was like they were in the same room. And this was happening every hour from 3am onwards. The mattresses have certainly seen better days and the bedcovers had a strange smell as did the bathroom. The breakfast is left in a bag for you and consisted of an old piece of fruit,a dry pain au chocolate and a carton of juice, yum yum!
My advice is by all means use the parking facilities which are reasonably priced but avoid staying at all costs.

Unfortunately there are just some people that are impossible to please!
I gave these guests 3 weeks parking for the price of 2 and a late check-out for free. We use 400 tc bed linen, and all mattresses are expensive memory foam ones. The bathrooms are fitted with high pressure grohe wireless showers. All rooms are fully soundproofed with the same soundproofing used in recording studios. The breakfast they were complaining about was FREE, and is perfectly suited to people that are travelling early (they were made aware of the breakfast and told what it was, 99% of our guests leave before 06:00, hence we do not do a full English breakfast) If you put these people in the Savoy in London for free, they'd complain!

“Excellent experience”

My parents stayed at this guest house on 5th Nov 2011 prior to flying out from Bristol airport very early on the 6th. The staff were very friendly, the room very clean and comfortable. The staff recommended a place to eat on the Saturday night and even provided transport to and from the restaurant. It took a few minutes to arrive at the airport on the Sunday morning, and on return, they phoned Acorns and were told the lift would be with them in 2 mins, and it was. On arrival, their car had been collected and ready for them to go. They had a very pleasant stay here and would recommend it to friends and family in the futur.
