This self catering cottage is nicely furnished and properly equipped for a couple. The bed is comfortable and larger than a standard double and lots of pillows provided. The bathroom is really good with bath and separate shower. It also has a bidet. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking meals (no dishwasher though). The owner is very accommodating when asked and leaves you to it which is perfect for self catering. The cottage does not have its own heating time control so be sure to let the owner know your requirements. There is a fast wired broadband connection but not wifi. There is some traffic noise from the road at the morning rush hour but It is in a good location for Bath and Bristol. Altogether, it is definitely good value and among the best of the small cottages I have stayed in.

We just stayed one night after visiting relatives. The B&B is excellent in all respects. Our room and en-suite were spotless and the beds very comfortable. The room had a good widescreen TV and a pleasant view of the countryside. Breakfast was also excellent. Definitely a winner!

Southwood House is a Victorian house and is full of character. Warm and welcoming, it is the famiy home complete with Daisy the Retriever. Our warm room was spacious with en-suite (super shower), tv, fresh crisp bed linen, tea and coffee making facilities - fresh milk offered every day when we returned. Full English breakfast freshly cooked, fresh fruit salad and cereals, tea, coffee and toast.
Set on the outskirts of Wick, just off the A420, ideally placed for touring the area. Bristol in one direction, Bath just down the road in the other. Cheddar Gorge, and Longleat within easy driving distance. Local pub Rose and Crown is just under a mile away and serves excellent food.

Lovely, hospitable B+B in great location only up the road from the Park ride for easy access to Bath. Set in lovely surroundings this B+B was a great find.
