We stayed here Aug 30, 2005. Having more than enough of the 401, we exited at Port Hope and continued on to Picton and Waupoos by the back roads. We had intended to go by way of Sandbanks, but it was getting late and the tail end of Hurricane Katrina was approaching, so we took a shortcut. This area is very fertile and green, and has become well known for its vineyards in recent years. We stayed at Cindy’s Bayshore B&B in Waupoos, [$75 CDN] located right on the water. Cindy recommended the Duke of Marysburg Pub for dinner, within easy walking distance. It was a lovely dinner with excellent food, service and ambiance. We are still shaking our heads that it cost $100 and is in the middle of nowhere! We watched one of her DVD movies “Ray”, biography of Ray Charles. Resident house cat, Thelma, kept us company on the couch. Our room [N/S Queen w/ shared bath] was really small, and the bathroom ceiling was infested with spiders. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay. During the night the storm hit and we were pelted with winds and heavy rains, and power failure. Next morning, Cindy made a yummy country breakfast to send us on our way full and happy.
