What was supposed to be a romantic birthday get away turned ugly very quickly as we were greeted by the drunk owner of this B&B. He was rude, offensive and hit our dog when he pulled toward the in-house cat. Buyer beware at this place, all is not as it appears. We left to the owner yelling at us from his porch. How can a place like this stay in business? Highly recommend the Pemberton Valley Lodge instead (dog and people friendly).

In response to this unfavourable review, after almost 14 years of pleasing many hundreds of couples per year, and our most-repeated guests, now with babies, have been here 12 times with visiting English family over and over, I would like to comment on only one aspect of this email.
We are dog-friendly, taking care to allow only very quiet dogs on leash, as they go into and out of their room, for the safety of our cat and in consideration of other guests.
These particular guests did arrive with a very aggressive dog, whom I would have refused to take, if I had been home and greeted them instead of my husband. While I agree he was not smooth in his refusal of this dog, I do not think that negates our position on pets. We are still very pet friendly, and many very special dogs have been here and been enjoyed by us, and tolerated by Jade, our cat.
We are so proud of the very memorable experience our guests have at our beautiful retreat and how we help them enjoy everything about our Pemberton Valley and hiking etc. Skiers love it here too away from the madness of Whistler.
