“Sadly, An uncomfortable experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

This otherwise promising B&B - great, quiet rural location on the outskirts of the small town in a fairly majestic valley - did not pan out for us. We had two run ins with a very drunk and tempermental older man, Peter. One evening he had an unintelligible conversation with my young wife in the common room - wearing only his briefs! This, and a couple other similiar encounters were enough to ruin the atmosphere for us and make returning each night something we lamented (and left my wife very uncomfrotable). Carol, the hostess, was otherwise very nice, but she accepted cash only (which we were not told beforehand) and while she evidently heard from her husband about his underwear conversation with my wife, offered no apology for this, but gave us a very strange speech "explaining" his behavior to us. In the end, we were happy to move on.
I took a look at two of the other positive reviews of this sight - the reviewers have never commented on another hotel, only this one. To me, thats fishy.

“Delightful Xmas Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2009

We came back to the Farmhouse, and this time to spend Xmas week in the beautiful Pemberton Valley. Our stay was fabulous as Carol and Peter are the best hosts with a great sense of humor and knowledge of the local area. We dined on lovely, filling breakfasts, relaxed by the warm fire at night, got to cuddle with Jade, the "cool cat," fed the horses a couple of times, and experienced great cross country skiing at Whistler and in the Pemberton Valley. Our room was cozy, clean, with an ensuite bath with a heated floor! Very nice. The wireless Internet network was faster than my FIOS at home. We looked out over the surrounding snow-covered meadows with no neighbors in sight. There were charming small restaurants in town where we enjoyed our dinners. This a great place for a lovely vacation get-a-way. We hope to be back again!

“we loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 May 2008

Despite the rather MIS leading review below, we decided to stay here for two nights and we are so glad we did. The location is amazing and the house sits in meadows with montains surrounding it. You can spend a lot of time exploring this town let alone whistler.

The rooms are very good. Well presented, clean and big. Breakfast was lovely and hearty. Carol and Peter were welcoming and Carol gave us a lot of info. Peter was a logger and has lived here all his life... he is a character and made us laugh. Check out the hummingbirds that live around the house. we loved it and to top it all we also had a friendly bear encounter when out walking which made our day.

“The Drunkhouse Bed and Breakfast”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2007

What was supposed to be a romantic birthday get away turned ugly very quickly as we were greeted by the drunk owner of this B&B. He was rude, offensive and hit our dog when he pulled toward the in-house cat. Buyer beware at this place, all is not as it appears. We left to the owner yelling at us from his porch. How can a place like this stay in business? Highly recommend the Pemberton Valley Lodge instead (dog and people friendly).

In response to this unfavourable review, after almost 14 years of pleasing many hundreds of couples per year, and our most-repeated guests, now with babies, have been here 12 times with visiting English family over and over, I would like to comment on only one aspect of this email.
We are dog-friendly, taking care to allow only very quiet dogs on leash, as they go into and out of their room, for the safety of our cat and in consideration of other guests.
These particular guests did arrive with a very aggressive dog, whom I would have refused to take, if I had been home and greeted them instead of my husband. While I agree he was not smooth in his refusal of this dog, I do not think that negates our position on pets. We are still very pet friendly, and many very special dogs have been here and been enjoyed by us, and tolerated by Jade, our cat.
We are so proud of the very memorable experience our guests have at our beautiful retreat and how we help them enjoy everything about our Pemberton Valley and hiking etc. Skiers love it here too away from the madness of Whistler.

“Highly Recommended”

It was our first time travelling to BC. We wanted lodging that was cheaper than the hotels in Whistler. Were we glad we stayed at the Farmhouse B&B. Get away from the Disney-esque resort of Whistler and escape to the serene setting of the Farmhouse. Only 20-25 minutes north of Whistler, and oh so worth it. Clean and tastefully decorated. Rich coffee and the heartiest breakfast that set us off for hiking. We pet the owners' 2 horses, and sat in their backyard which faces the mountains. We wish we could have stayed longer than 3 nights.
