As a member of this hotel's club & spa facilities for several years I find it very disappointing the way the pool is managed. We come to the Aquafit classes each week and rarely do we have sufficient space because of the people who come for the cheapie spa days. The manager refuses to allow the three-quarter of an hour class to have sole use and there is not enough room in the pool for the 20-odd class because it is squeezed into less than half the pool. Normally there are less than half a dozen swimmers in the two lanes. It must be disappointing to the spa day people as the pool itself if very drab - grey walls, grey floor, dark blue pool tiling and the main lights are hardly ever put the on until late morning, just as we are finishing our class. There are only around 4 seats and nothing to brighten the place e.g. plants. The spa day people have to walk from the changing rooms along the corridor, across the reception hall, up the stairs and through the coffee lounge to get to the treatment rooms. This is not what I would expect from a day of pampering, whatever the cost. The other issue I have is that there is no sign on the jacuzzi to indicate that pregnant ladies should not use it. I have used jacuzzis in many hotel and always there is a sign warning of the contra-indications. No doubt someone will sue one day and the insurers will take a hand! If there was a nearer club I would not return here.
