My husband and I took holiday here for 4-5 days in the summer. It was lovely. Amazing location, great food and service and a beautiful room. It didn't bother us but there are a lot of stairs so make sure you have your strength before you go. Staff packed us an early morning to go breakfast for our departure. No stone left unturned!

The location for this hotel could not have been better for our exploration of Quebec City. Our room was small, but on a corner overlooking a lovely square. The room was very clean, nicely decorated with a terrific shower in the bathroom. Staff was friendly, excellent and helpful. NIce breakfast was included and discount cards for the restaurant and ice cream next door.

Room tip: Rooms on the front of the hotel will have better views. No elevator, but staff will help with luggage if needed and park your car.

From the moment we arrived the staff were incredible attentive and helpful and friendly. Our room was on the 3rd floor. But worth the walk up. We had charming room with eclectic furnishings. The shower was great. The mattress a little hard for me, but I like soft mattress. The location is perfect. It is on a pedestrian street with street entertainers just outdoors playing anything from guitar to sax to accordion. The breakfast is included with 8 choices from the menu. They have outdoor seating with a nice wine list. They offer valet parking.

Just returned from two-night stay in loft room. Auberge Place D'armes is a wonderful property in a great location. The room was large, clean and comfortable with every needed amenity. Uniquely decorated in western motif, windows looked out to Chateau Frontenac and street with daily entertainers. The included breakfast had many tasty choices. Front desk and all staff were friendly, efficient and helpful.(All were bilingual, thank goodness!). Would definitely recommend to all who are able to manage some steep steps leading into hotel as well as stairway to all three levels.

Location can't be beat (cobblestone street, no cars) so long as you don't mind stepping over hordes of tourists. All rooms are accessible solely by stairs. We stayed in Room 31, in the garrett up three steep flights of stairs. Great exercise, and a very charming room (just watch your head, and be prepared for the white noise provided by the restaurant vent). The door lock needed a bit of manipulation when leaving the room, and while I'm sure some guests would slam the hotel for something like that, it was a minor inconvenience that we quickly learned to deal with. Breakfasts were good, not great, with a number of choices. I measure service by the staff's willingness to deal with problems, and they passed with flying colors. We unwittingly overloaded a circuit in the bathroom, and blew out the lights. Two guys showed up almost immediately, and stayed with it until they'd solved the problem. Take advantage of the valet parking - the fee is worth it, and you don't want to touch your car while you're in Quebec. When we needed a couple of things from the car, one of the young men on the staff gladly retrieved them and brought them to our room within minutes. Several recent guests commented on Anne, both positively and negatively. Sure, she had a bit of an attitude when we first arrived, but for a New Yorker it was barely detectable, and bantering with her was fun. She was very helpful steering us to a couple of very good restaurants. The hotel was a good restaurant, which we've reviewed separately.
