The Minto Furnished Suites in Yorkville are luxury serviced apartments available for rent with a minimum 1 month stay, so they are also suitable for holidaymakers who plan on being in Toronto for 30 days as well as business people staying short-term in Toronto or relocating to Toronto. My stay at the Minto Yorkville was outstanding and I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. There are other blocks of Minto apartments available in Toronto, and I actually viewed one of their other properties, but it is worthwhile spending the extra money to stay at this one as the Minto Yorkville is their finest property. The Minto Yorkville is 5 star and then some. It’s a place where the customer is indeed king and every effort is made to keep guests happy.

Nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful front desk staff and the fantastic service starts from the moment you walk in to their glamorous reception. I rented a one bedroom apartment for about 40 days. It was very luxurious with all mod cons e.g. dishwasher, microwave etc. Every conceivable kitchen need has been thought of kettles, toasters, graters you name it, and everything is of wonderful quality.

The apartment was spacious and well appointed and featured a lounge and separate bedroom, a nice bathroom as well as a fully equipped laundry. There was also a good size hall closet useful for storing luggage.

The Minto Yorkville is perfectly located at Bay St and Yorkville Avenue in the very upmarket district of Yorkville, 5 minutes from Downtown. Yorkville is Toronto’s equivalent of Mayfair in London. It’s a very upmarket and safe area with numerous shops, supermarkets, restaurants and cafes within 50 metres walk of the apartment. Many luxury hotels are located within a minute of the Minto Yorkville e.g. the Four Seasons and the Park Hyatt. Sound insulation was great at the Minto – I asked for a quiet room and got one. There is a Whole Foods market within 5 minutes walk that is open late and perfect for your grocery needs and right under the hotel is the wonderful Pusateri’s – a fantastic upmarket Italian grocery where you can buy fresh fruit, drinks, top quality grocery items and fantastic takeaway salads and pre-prepared meals. I ended up grabbing a bite to eat there most nights and taking it up to the apartment as did most Minto guests it seemed.

The Minto Yorkville also has a fantastic small cinema that guests can use and you can also book meeting rooms free of charge which came in handy on a couple of occasions.

In summer Toronto is a fantastic place – don’t miss a trip to Centre Island/the Toronto Islands by ferry – cars are banned and I had a great time cycling around Centre Island by bike – you can rent a bike on the Island. Also don’t miss Casa Loma – this really was a magnificent castle well worth a visit. The CN Tower is also a must see. I also enjoyed Black Creek Pioneer Village – definitely worth the drive out to see it.

The wonderful Minto service continued after my stay was over. I was overcharged by mistake for some phone calls I made, it was a misunderstanding; I called the Minto head office in Ottawa and a lovely lady there sorted it out for me. She even sent me a follow up email to make sure the amount had been credited back to my credit card. Minto is a classy company. I’ve since stayed in serviced apartments in London, England and Sydney, Australia; however these paled in comparison to the Minto Yorkville.

Given the luxury of the apartments and the wonderful service, I felt that the Minto Yorkville offered value for money. I cannot recommend the Minto Yorkville and it’s wonderful staff highly enough.
