The room was so dirty it was difficult to sleep. The carpet had big rips in middle of floor, the sheets had burn holes in them, the comfortors were dirty still with stains and the bathroom bathtub had dark stains all over floor. I laid towel in shower (since whole town was booked labor day weekend when I was there to shower and I slept on sheet I had in trunk of my car for "beach trips" to avoid touching the bedding. I would not walk on floor barefoot (usually this does not matter to me, but place was so dirty I did not feel comfortable even walking barefoot). When we arrived about 9pm Fri night there was note on door to go down street to another hotel to pick up our room key, when we went to other hotel they did not have our reservation even though I had called not once but twice (as i added an additional night after original booking). On phone with other motel they gave us room...?? No explanation... and the note remained on the door of our hotel office to go down the street to other hotel... when my friend stopped girl once when he saw her going in office she said she did not need to be there... hotel was all booked... he pointed out who was going to help if customer had problem... she laughed ... didn't care. We had broken remote that was sticky and no back on battery, and when we showered (on towel) the smoke alarm would go off in our room non stop. We tried calling number for wi-fi info, but got busy signal the 8 or 9 times we tried and no cars were in lot then... when I called other hotel they said to keep trying they must be helping other patrons... I explained no cars were there, not sure who they would be helping they said to keep trying... it was BULL... The phone was purposely off the hook... this place is disgrace for hotels... I would recommend staying at brand name hotel near airport or going to another town... Thunder bay was quite run down and really did not have "good" side to it... go to Nipigon or Red Rock... they were very nice small towns we visited while in the area.
