“Could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed at the Travelodge in Thunderbay, Ont. For the price you pay you do not get much. This hotel is old, they need to update everything, Breakfast "continental" is below average, very limited seating area, three (3) tables plus six (6) chairs. If you are not one to be fussy then you may get luke warm water or tea. Theydo not take care of their parking area, very icy even where the handicap park. There are good points, Robins Doughnuts is open for breakfast early, there is an A&W a block away and also Boston Pizza is open for lunch and dinner. There is also a mall a short drive away. You can do better for the price they charge, look around

Room Tip: I don't believe there is a good room

“Despite a reservation the hotel was closed when I got there...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

...leaving me to wander the sold out city looking for a room. They did not even to bother to contact me before arrival and made no attempt to find alternate accomodation. Never again Travelodge - never again!

“Outdated, Dirty and Tiny”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

There is an endless list of deficiencies with this Hotel. Mould around the bath tub and a shower diverter that didn't divert water to the shower head. Burns on the toilet seat and several cigarette burns in the blankets as well as a stained bedspread. The desk chair was rickety and the lamps had lost most of their brass plating.
The room itself was about 9' by 12' and had obviously been a smoking room with the smell still lingering in the wallpaper that was lifting from the walls. The air conditioner did not cool but it did make plenty of noise. TV wasn't too bad for an antique and was at least colour with several grainy, basic cable channels.
On the upside, the Internet was free and reliable and you could open the window to let in some fresh air along with the hum of traffic from the street.

“cheap, but uncomfortable and slummy!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

this hotel was cheap and we booked it as we would be spending only a few hours there before catching a 5 a.m. flight...we purposely went out to a late movie to avoid spending time in the room once we saw it! queen bed is NOT queen but more like double, TV is old, bathroom is crazy old fashioned, pillows are like flat bread! And don't even think about touching anything like the remote, coffee maker, bedspread....if you are like us and need to arrive late for an early morning flight, this is okay, but if you intend to spend more than a few hours in your room, forget it, it's not worth even the cheap price.

“Filthy Carpets - ugh!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2011

Wads of chewing gum ground into the carpet - wouldn't take my shoes off. The room made my skin crawl. The rooms have deteriorated so drastically it's criminal to charge people to stay there. Major renovations with ++$$ required before I'd ever go back. This hotel was a clean, decent place at one time ......
