Our visit to Ottawa was great.Marriott is in great location,we walked everywhere.Staff was polite and helpful.Pool area was nice and clean.Room was OK, great bed and clean bedding.Bathroom was OK, tub had some paint chipping and they did try to fix it ,but again clean.
Which is one thing I can not say about bedroom carpet, yikes, lots of stains all over and entire time I was there, I made sure I wear socks,no way I was to walk over that carpet in bear feet.
That was my only problem with this hotel, carpet needs good cleaning.
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The carpet had mysterious stains all over it, and the room had a nasty odour every time I walked in (like a wet dog). The cleaning lady obviously tried to cover it up with some lemon-scented product, but that just made things worse (and made me cough). The sheets were clean but the duvet/spread were clearly reused too many times. The ventilation system was quite cloud, and to top it all off, there were several groups of children staying, which added to the noise levels. There is a bar/restaurant that serves mediocre yet overpriced fare on the main floor. The ultimate insult was having to pay $10.95 per night for WiFi access. Get with the times Marriott!
Here on business - breakfast room service on time - room clean and ready with plenty of towels. Helpful concierge and good location.
I read some good and bad reviews before our trip and was unsure how this hotel would be. Overall we had an excellent experience! The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was amazing.. and a bonus was our great view of the Parliament Buildings! The hotel is in a great location. You can park your car at the hotel and walk to all the main attractions. Only complaint is the parking prices. We spent $50 for parking for 2 nights. I guess that's to be expected in the city though.
