Let me be upfront - this is not a hotel where women travellers would feel comfortable. Access to rooms unsecure – every morning woke up to advertisements for “massages” and pizza under door. Banging on the doors in the early morning hours by unruly guests. Used condom in the corner of the guest room elevator at 8 am. Did not feel safe walking to from hotel in evening – it is 20 minutes away from restaurants, etc.
I took the time to write and express my concerns to the manager, and received a generic email three weeks later that did not address any issues.
It’s hit or miss as to whether you can park at the hotel – there is no valet parking available – I was told by hotel staff they lost their license to park due to some “incidents”. It is a privately owned parkade and there are no specific spots reserved for hotel guests that I could find.
There is no formal valet or luggage assistance available.
The hotel is very dirty. Dust and dirt are everywhere in public areas and in rooms.
There is no in-room WiFi – seriously? For a business hotel?
Bathroom fixtures and room décor and electronics are 20 years old and falling apart. Bed uncomfortable. Lampshades falling apart and torn curtains.
Front desk staff abrupt to the point of rudeness and shrug their shoulders when asked basic questions about business services.
Room service – almost impossible to get a hold off, kept having to “call me back” and interrupted constantly when trying to order. Food arrived ½ hour after promised, cold.
I stayed here one night for business and was not impressed. The staff at the front desk were very nice. The room was a little tired and not the cleanest - you could see a line of dust where the carpet meets the wall and the chair at the desk looked like it had never been cleaned. The shower-head just sucks, there is hardly any water coming out, makes for a long shower... Also my room was quite warm, even though I had turned down the thermostat all the way it remained uncomfortably warm throughout the night. Wifi is not available in the rooms, only in the lobby.
Manager Natasha is rude to customer , they tell you to find a new hotel if your not happy, Parking is expensive, Elevator not working well, 6 pm and room are still being clean, also we had check out at 12 and Manger Natasha argued with us and told us it 11 and that is it, even we had the email conformation that if we are not happy go to another Hotel and good luck with that
The Delta Ottawa is in an excellent location being steps from the famous Sparks Street and our Canadian Parliament buildings making it easy to venture to all attractions. Staff members were all polite and respectful wanting to ensure that our stay is memorable. We were in a Signature Club Room, meaning we were on a top floor requiring special access where we had access to the Signature Club Studio which provided snacks and a continental breakfast.
There is nothing bad to say about the Delta Ottawa. Delta’s regardless of where you go, definitely uphold their reputation of being a solid 4 star hotel.
