“Enjoyed our stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake @ Royal Manor B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 November 2008

For our 45th anniversary we chose to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake and found Royal Manor through a Bed and Breakfast association. The B&B is in a restored house almost 200 yr. old very close to both Lake Ontario and the Niagara River, and an easy walk to the downtown stores and other attractions. Our hostess, Vicky Downes was very pleasant and helpful. The house was very comfortable and our breakfasts delightful. We have reservations to stay there this next spring and are taking friends with us. We are looking forward to stay there again.

“A Reason in Itself to Visit Niagara-on-the-Lake”

A Reason in Itself to Visit Niagara-on-the-Lake

One of the joys of attending the Shaw Theatre Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake is staying at Royal Manor Bed and Breakfast. We look forward to Vicki Downes' gracious hospitality equally with the invariably fine theatre season. At Royal Manor we feel both totally at home and privileged to stay in such a beautifully well-kept accommodation.. The spectacular garden adds much to our pleasure. And then there are the always splendid breakfasts--one goes to bed looking forward to the breakfast feast and the lively conversation that somehow always develops among the guests around the breakfast table at Royal Manor. We have stayed at Royal Manor several times and will happily return.

“A really Nice Place !”

We recently returned from a two night stay at the Royal Manor Bed and Breakfast. We were greeted by our friendly hostess Vicky who gave us a quick tour. I was most impressed by the decor and furnishings of the room which accentuated the historic background of this bed and breakfast. It was very clean and had all the ammenities you would need .After a short walk to Queen Street for a little shopping and sightseeing we were anxious to return to our accomadations to enjoy our bottle of local wine while admiring the gardens and ponds. I feel the location of the home is ideal. You are near the Towne Center, Lake Ontario and Fort George. There is also a walking trail nearby. After a restful night in a comfortable bed (with quality linens) we were anxious to see what was in store for us for breakfast . We were not dissappointed ! Our two mornings of breakfast were to say the least, delicious! Top quality fruit (my husband , who eats grapefruit often said he has never had such a tasty one), a variety of juices and main courses. Of course, I will never forget the experience of eating a Nasturtium for breakfast either! It was all a memorable experience and I hope we can visit again one day!

“Look No Further. This is the Place to Stay in Niagara.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2006

For our first trip to Niagara for wine tasting we stumbled upon Royal Manor Bed and Breakfast. We rented out the entire house with our friends to see the sights and taste the wine. The house was beautiful, rooms spacious but cozy and on-suite bathrooms wonderful. The garden and waterful were very calming. Lots of rooms to hang out in including covered and uncovered porches. Breakfast each morning was phenomenal. The owner made sure we had everything we needed and even helped us to organize our wine route and dinner plans. Place was wonderful, location was wonderful and service was wonderful. Definate recommendation to book here!!

“Wonderful accommodation and hospitality at the Royal Manor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2004

Our party of 6 stayed at the Royal Manor after spending time in Niagara Falls, seeing the sights and getting wet on the Maid of the Mist! We were absolutely bowled over by the quality of the accommodation at the Royal Manor - the style of decor (beautiful furnishings in keeping with the 1824 historic house), and wonderful gardens. As if this were not enough, Vicky Royal is a wonderful hostess - friendly and personable - and the breakfasts are gourmet class. The whole house is tastefully furnished and the bedrooms and en suites are spotlessly clean. We were just there for one night but Vicky really felt like an old friend by the time it came to leave, and I wished we had planned to stay longer.

The Royal Manor B&B is the perfect antidote to the tackiness of Niagara Falls - quality accommodation. Where else would your breakfast come garnished with an edible nasturtium flower?
