“A Different Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I didn’t book this hotel myself as somebody from the area did it for me. I stayed 3 nights.

The hotel certainly has is own charm and cachet. Although difficult for me to describe, it has a rustic style with a touch of pink roses. I personally prefer more modern style, but it is a matter of taste. The hotel is spread on several buildings with many green spaces.

My room was so huge that I felt alone in the middle of it. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and the toilet & bath products were premium quality. The staff was courteous and polite. Lot of attention was given to the customers. It was simply impeccable.

The restaurant was delicious. I did not try the spa.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience but it is simply not my style. It may be more suited for couples who are looking for a Buckingham Palace type of atmosphere.

“An Wonderful Place for a Retreat!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My wife and I recently took some time out of our busy schedule to turn off the electronics and recharge our personal batteries at the Pilliar and Post Inn. This is a favorite location of ours where the staff is like family, always helpful and trying to help make your stay that little bit more special - as always they succeeded! The food is varied and exceptional whether it is the Breakfast Buffet, a lunch in the Vintages Wine Bar or a dinner with that Special someone at the Cannery Resturant. The 100 Fountain Spa is a dream come true with a variety of hot tub, salt water pool and outside Hot Spring usually followed up by a steam bath. The Spa is not crowded during the week and staff are true professionls - to almost fall alseep during a relaxing massage in their well appointed massge rooms is true bliss! The bedrooms are spacious, with lofty comfortable beds to fall asleep in. We had a room upgrade which allowed us to enjoy quite time with a glass of wine and our favorite book around the in-room fireplece...peace on earth! We are now back in the real world and dreaming of our next visit to the Pillar and Post Inn.

Room Tip: Any of the Suites in the new section of the building facing the salt water pool are spacious and com...

“Not great!”

My husband decided to surprise me with a birthday weekend away. We stayed for one night - when we checked in the front desk reminded us of our "2 double beds" when we booked a king.....and they were booked solid so couldn't get us a king room. She also told us that we didn't book a dinner time with our "dinner package" and the only time they had left for dinner was 9pm. We ended up having room service and that was nice, the food was amazing.
We also went into the hot springs which was very busy.....15 people in a very small "hot tub". My husband ordered a drink and it was never delivered.
The next day we had spa treatments, I had a facial and my husband a massage. First impression of the spa was mediocre, the spa lounge was small and crowded, they only had a water cooler and a few bruised apples in a basket. No music playing in lounge or spa rooms, my 50 min facial consisted of 10 minutes of applying a few different lotions followed by a mask in which she left the room for 15 min. Then she returned with another mask and the steam machine on my face for another 10min. I think she may have actually touched my face for a total of 15 min in total. Worst facial ever!
We checked in at 3:30pm on Saturday and checked out at 11am the next day and our bill was over $650.00. - Way too expensive for what its worth!
And.......there were so many children there.....I couldn't believe how many kids were there, I felt like I was at Great Wolf Lodge.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for the name of the person you booked your room with and confirm room type and res...

Thank you so much for candid feedback. Please be assured that this is not the level of service we typically strive for or provide and is certainly not representative of a perfect, relaxing getaway at the Pillar & Post. We are truly sorry to hear that your surprise Birthday weekend away did not live up to your expectations. We will take all your comments into full review and use it as an opportunity to improve any process missed in making your stay less than perfect. Thank you again for candid review. It is sincerely appreciated and is a very helpful tool in reaching our goal of continuous improvement.

Kindest Regards,

“Great Place for a Sale”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Had a great time at this location on an online package that included dinner at their restaurant, full use of the spa, and a wine flight at a local vineyard.
Pros
- full use of the spa
- comfortable pillows and matress
- very picturesque
- staff were very helpful
- rooms were quite large

Cons
-Spa was over crowded and offered shoes and robs that were too small and uncomfortable
- Outdoor room concept wasn't the best selection for a room (choose and indoor room if possible)
- Decor is quite dated (but not dirty)

Select this location only if you are getting a deal.

“My go-to place when its time to unwind!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Took advantage of their advance rate specials and have visited twice this year. This past weekend we were fortunate to get a room upgrade. I love everything about the Pillar and Post and will continue to keep it my go to place to escape.
