“Quaint and cozy - Excellent food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

My husband and I chose this B&B because they had great reviews and also because they allowed dogs. We weren't expecting much, just a clean room and a place to sleep, but we were totally blown away by the lovely experience we had at Clover Field. Silvia, the hostess, was extremely friendly and put much effort in orienting us to the region and things to do close by. She gave us restaurant suggestions and free wine tasting vouchers. She also was very helpful in suggesting on which wineries to go to for the types of wines we particularly liked. Silvia definitely put efforts into making sure our weekend visit was the best it could be.

We stayed in the blue room. While not huge, it was cozy, clean, quaint and very charming. Silvia had put extra efforts into the room: clean robes and chocolate on the bed; doggy bowls and treats in the room; a large assortment of bath salts, shaving kits and lotions, candles etc. There was a lovely fireplace in our room and we absolutely LOVED the double-person jacuzzi tub. We also did not hear a thing when the couple next door had their bath jets on. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. Silvia also had no issues with us leaving our dog in our room while we went out.

The location of the B&B is excellent. It's down the street from a park on the water where we could walk our dog in the morning. There is also excellent restaurants near by. The shopping district is not far at all either. If you take some of the free bikes from the B&B, the location is great to go on your own bike tour of the wineries.

In addition, the food for breakfast was phenomenal. Silvia seriously went all out preparing the food. The plating looked like it took a lot of time and effort. For example, she cut a small portion off each grape so she could place them on the edge of the plate so they wouldn't roll off. Each breakfast she made was gourmet and not your standard breakfast. Everything was very delicious. She even gave our dog a breakfast treat each morning.

Overall, I highly recommend this B&B. We had a wonderful time and expect we will return for another visit in the future.

“Excellent B&B and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously !”

We can't give enough praise to Silvia & James , who were so helpful and accommodating when we met up with our friends from New York in August . We stayed in the blue room , which was charming and had all the amenities which you would need for a short stay . The breakfast was delightful and beautifully prepared and Silvia had all the useful information about wineries ( with free wine-tasting vouchers ! ) , places worthwhile to visit , her own bikes free of charge to move around and arranged 4 last minute tickets for "My fair lady" while we were out and about enjoying good food & wine in this gorgeous area !
We can highly recommend this B&B which is located very close to the downtown area of Niagara-on-the-lake and we will certainly be back !

“A BNB That Knows How to Treat You Like Family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 March 2011

I absolutely loved Clover Field House and Silvia & James are professional, very kind and accommodating. We drove up from Ohio to this BNB which was very close to the Canadian border and easy to find. The drive into town for entertainment isn't too far and it's a short drive to see Niagara Falls.

The Burgundy Room was beautifully cared for with such great detail and a nice sized private patio. The bathroom has a big Jacuzzi tub and I found it absolutely divine with my music selection and a few lit candles. The breakfast served was superb and artistically presented, I wish we had only more time to sit and enjoy every tasty piece. It was delectable!

“Excellent dog-friendly B&B”

I can't say enough good things about the Clover Field and it's owners Silvia and James. They were extremely accommodating even when we didn't arrive until 11 pm on a Sunday night. We stayed in the blue room which was adorable and had a whirlpool big enough for me and my football player sized husband. There was also a large balcony overlooking the beautifully landscaped yard . The yard is completely fenced in so our dog was able to run around and play. In the morning, we were treated a gourmet breakfast complete with belgian waffles, a warm berry sauce, fresh yogurt, peaches, raspberries, tea, coffee and juice. Silvia and James were also very helpful in assisting with planning our day at the vineyards and the falls. They steered us to Pondview Winery which was fantastic. The owner even took us behind the scenes and showed us how they make the wine. I highly recommend their Cabernet Franc Ice Wine, the Trinity Red and the Pinot Grigio. Overall, I definitely recommend the Cloverfield for any stay. The rooms are large and private (did not hear the couple staying in the room next to us at all), and Silvia and James are excellent hosts!

“A home away from home.”

My boyfriend and I have been visiting NOTL for the last few years now and make a habit of going at least once or twice a year as we love the area and wineries. We have a small dog and have never travelled with her, but this year we decided to and found Clover House B & B online with great reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. We're so happy we did!

Silvia and James are amazing hosts! They know how to do hospitality right! Being pet lovers themselves (three dogs and three cats) they were more than happy with our little dog interacting with their pets and their pets were all so friendly, adorable and great with our dog.

We stayed in the Burgundy Room for 4 nights (beautiful gas fireplace with great brickwork for the surround, super cozy bed, jacuzzi tub, our own lovely private balcony where we ate breakfast and a cosy seating area inside when the weather wasn't nice enough to eat breakfast outdoors, with James playing his guitar below from the backyard with amazing talent!). We had use of their lovely common areas for some relaxation and great talks. James and Silvia were right from the start very friendly, welcoming and accommodating given the fact we couldn't get there until very late on our first night.

The breakfasts were to die for! We had the pleasure of enjoying delicious omelettes, quiche, waffles, bagels with smoked turkey, all served with an amazing and beautifully presented selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, awesome coffee/espresso/tea and the presentation everytime was gourmet!

Silvia and James were very helpful with their tips on where to eat and what to do and even gave us great jogging routes around the neighbourhood. We have already started to plan our next stay with other friends who have dogs as we know they will enjoy their stay as much as we did.

We ended up making new friends with Silvia and James and felt like we were visiting them and enjoying spending time with them instead! Thank you Silvia and James for being so great at what you do and for being awesome people! Looking foward to our next visit!
