“Great place for a pre or post flight stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed at the Fairfield at the end of our out of country trip once again, and again it was exactly what we needed. Got a great rate that included 8 nights of parking, and a room with a king sized bed for a night. We parked our car here and their shuttle took us for the very quick trip to the airport. Upon our return, I have to say very late, into the wee hours, called the hotel as soon as we had our bags and the shuttle was there shortly after we made our way to the pick-up point. A quick trip to the hotel, a very quick and efficient check-in and we were in our room. Comfortable bed, bright clean bathroom, and a quiets night sleep. Will visit again.

“Bugs, ticks ???”

I recently stayed at the hotel (Jan 14, 2012) and got several bites all over my body. I was seen at a walk in clinic where the Doctor indicated it was not bed bugs however some kind of mite/tick. When I brought this up to management’s attention, they continued to charge us for the room and offered no compensation. They indicated they would have someone check the room and call us within 24 hours. It is now January 17 ... and no phone call!!

Parking spaces are limited, beds are uncomfortable, cleanliness not a priority ... over all a very bad experience.

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

Dear Guest,
Apologies for the miscommunication! There are no bed bugs at the hotel. The Front Desk has responded over your e-mail regarding the issue. We have a pest control contract to maintain our hotel through a very reputed company. We would request you to stay with us and give us another chance. Thanks

“Not In Line With Other Hotels Within The Chain.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel last weekend and my experience was not what I was used to expecting at a similar Marriott Hotel. I was walked in on 3 times, which at any hotel is just plain unacceptable, ESPECIALLY IF THE DO NOT DISTURB SIGN IS ON THE DOOR.

The comfortable beds and sheets are what the Marriott is known for. Having to deal with very thin "duvets" (I had to ask for a second one) was not a very warm or welcoming experience. I'm sorry, if you're going to sell better duvets for home use that are thicker and warmer than the ones you'd put in your own hotel, there is something seriously wrong with that.

As for the parking situation, paying for it is one thing, but a simple parking spot should be guaranteed. I had to park my car in the temporary parking where according to hotel policy, it should have been towed for parking there for more than 20 minutes. Totally unacceptable.

All in all, I enjoy my stays at the Marriott chain of hotels. However, when I travel next, I WILL NOT be staying at any Fairfield Inn if this is the way they conduct business. Maybe I should have stayed at a Super 8.

“functional but poor housekeeping makes this place a filthy pigsty”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

I spend about sixty (!) nights a year in Toronto airport hotels for work related reasons. Over the past year I've stayed at the various Marriott and Hilton brand hotels in the area. All of them have their pros and cons. During the winter months I stay at this Fairfield Inn, the Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn, as those are in walking distance to my office.

The lobby of this hotel is inviting and the staff efficient and friendly. The rooms are two-star motel style with the usual amenities, lower end mattress, old-school TV set, coffeemaker, window unit airconditioner/heater. The cleanliness of the rooms leaves a lot to be desired though. Housekeeping does a quick surface cleaning only. Whenever I check into a hotel the first thing I do is lift the bedding and the mattress to perform the bedbug check. Big mistake. No bedbugs, but years of hair, dust, filth, fingernails you name it under the mattress. The bedskirts clearly are not cleaned regularly, the nightstands never moved to clean behind them. Dusty condom wrapper behind the nightstand. Tons of air freshener sitting in the carpet and wallpaper. Don't stay here if you have allergies.

The gym is small but functional. The airport shuttle is on request only. You have to call from the airport.

Do not eat at their restaurant. The "Chicken Stir Fry" clearly came from frozen and was exact same quality and quantity as the lean cuisine Chicken Stir Fry. I was under the impression they just took a $2.99 convenience meal, put it in the microwave, arrange it on a plate and charge you $14 for it. Terrible.

Room Tip: Bring some ducktape for the curtains. The exterior floodlights illuminate all rooms at night.

Dear Guest,
Thanks for your reviews. After thorough investigation, we did not find any bed bugs in the rooms. Bed bugs might be contracted via different travel means like airplanes, rental cars and theatres.

In order to keep you a loyal Marriott Guest. We would like to still keep our original offer for reward points open for you. I hope you would accept the points as a token of our gratitude of being our guest. Thanks
