“Rooms are aging with an odd smell”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 April 2011

This is our second visit to the Residence Inn for a hockey tournament. We love the layout of the Residence Inn's with the separate bedroom and the kitchen. We have stayed in various other Residence Inns and this one appears to be getting quite old and in need of an update. The kitchen cupboards and cabinet in bathroom are aging and the dishwasher was very loud. Our room from check in had an odd smell throughout our entire stay of three nights. It was cleaned each day and sprayed - but the fishy smell continued. We will continue to stay with Residence Inn but hope that our next stay - the smell is much better.

Dear CozzyMitchell,

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the odor you experienced during your stay. I truly regret that we fell short of meeting the high standards we strive to achieve. Please know that I will personally look into your concerns. I hope your visit during the hockey tournament was otherwise enjoyable and I look forward to see you again.

Best regards,

“Satisfactory But Share Concern of Others About Slipping Standards”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2010

We had no real complaints. Our welcome was subdued but friendly. The morning front desk clerk was one of the friendliest people I've ever encountered and a real credit to Marriott. We share the same concerns with recent reviewers about slipping standards. The hotel was definitely showing wear and tear. The breakfast was excellent and a great value, but the evening light meal--a cream-based vegetable soup--when we arrived was inedible, which is being extremely charitable. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were very quiet. We did notice the extremely strong food smells in the corridors as well, though they did not invade our room as other reviewers have noted. We chose to stay at Homewood Suites on our return trip through Toronto on the way home and it pains me to say it as a loyal Residence Inn customer but I think we may have to switch allegiances. Homewood was cheaper by almost 20 percent (using our AAA discount) and had far superior food. The hotel was not as quiet, which we attributed to its location by a busy street, but was in much better repair.

“Typical Residence Inn but on the lower end”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2010

Stayed here for three days over the holiday weekend. It's your typical Residence Inn - suites with kitchenettes etc. I've been pretty loyal to the brand over the years but I'm starting to wonder if it might be slipping a bit. Hotel was showing some wear and tear in the halls and in the rooms. Bed was as hard as a rock. Real issue with drafts from windows in the multiple suites I had access to. Heating/Cooling was just ok. A lot of food odour in the halls and in the room through the bathroom vent. Bathroom vent was loud and dominated the entire suite when on (turns on with bathroom light) Breakfast was decent - eggs were really subpar and they served uncooked/under cooked turkey bacon on our last day but everything else was fresh. Pool was warm but had to ask for towels as there was no clean ones to be had. All in all nothing spectactular or terrible.

“Excellent service and value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 August 2010

Visiting relatives in Mississauga and impressed by the hotel. Breakfast excellent although they need more seats! Rooms excellent and kept very clean. Good kitchen although we didn't use it. Pool we used daily and is adequate for the children. Service was fantastic and everyone always very helpful. Only downside was a bit far out but we knew that and everybody has a car anyway. Would definitely go back.

“Love staying at Residence Inn!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2010

We stayed at this Residence Inn for a hockey tournament. The rooms are the same as all of the other Residence Inn's we have stayed at. Great to have the separate bedroom and the kitchen. That weekend the majority of the rooms were booked by hockey families. Other than some running through the halls during the day (which is normal) at night it was very quiet. Breakfast was a hot breakfast with lots of variety. This hotel is right around the corner from Meadowvale Arena which was a huge plus! No 401 to travel on to get back and forth! We would definately stay here again.
