“The room was clean, but they need to improve their service.”

We stayed at the Seacliffe Inn on a Wednesday night in November. When I first went in to inquire about availability, there wasn't anyone at the front desk. We came back 45 minutes later and there wasn't anyone at the desk again. I found a lady who worked next door and she went and found someone for me. I checked us in and when we entered the room the first thing I noticed was that the thermostat was set at 74 degrees. I tried to lower the temperature but wasn't able to. We opened a window and that was how we lowered the temperature. The other thing I noticed was that there weren't any "do not disturb cards" to put on the door. But then I thought, we're checking out by 11 am, and I've already paid for the room so we won't be disturbed

The next morning at 10:30 there was a knock on the door from housekeeping wanting to make up the room. I told her from behind the door that I wasn't dressed and my husband was in the shower. She asked if we were checking out that day and I said we will be out by 11 am. At a few minutes to 11 someone knocked on the door again. We were almost out , so I let her in the room. I really felt that I was being chased out of the Inn. We have never had a visit from housekeeping before checkout time at any place we've ever stayed, let alone two calls within a half an hour.

I went downstairs to return the key and also to let them know about the heating control not working and the lack of a card for the door, but again there wasn't anyone at the desk. I found someone in a back office and gave her the key.

So in summary, the room was spacious and clean but they really need to work on their customer service.

“Beautiful location, average rooms, service could do better....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

The location is beautiful, the rooms are average and will do fine, but the service is not what could be expected. This hotel could do much better with a better staff and more attention.

“Spotless Room, very clean.”

Just came back from a 3 days trip to Point Peele National Park. We have the room on top floor and it's really clean. Reception is friendly and location is good, easy access to town centre, to the Park and the cafe opposite open early as well. Price is reasonable and mattress is firm so we had 2 good night sleep.

“Guests are not important”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 April 2009

That is the message one gets from staff. Booked to include continental breakfast, first morning we were told," sorry no breakfast, we discontinued that" Strange that they should not have said that on booking, or contacted guests when that decision was made.
Not sufficient towels and soaps. When asked for it was brought "after the bar closed", near midnight. Too late for a longed for shower after a days' travel.
It was imposible to shut off the airconditioning. Not a good night. It was brought to staff atention, but not fixed during our stay.
We topped the airco vent (in the floor) with a pillow and put the table on top to keep it down, but the pillow case flopped all night with the strong air flow, so as to make it sound like it was pouring rain.
Other than that, the hotel is nice looking, the rooms are attractively furnished and the beds were clean.
