“Nice Friendly Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Our enjoyed our visit to the Radisson Hotel in Kingston. The staff are very friendly and helpful - our room was clean and quiet with a nice view of the lake. It looks like there is good docking area for boats as well. The bed was very comfortable. There is a neat little bar and a very nice restuarant. The hotel is close to the core downtown area of Kingston - situated by a little park - a nice area to go walking. Parking is part of the hotel complex - very convenient. A nice place to take a family or to go on business.

Room Tip: It looked to us like any room is a good choice!

“Very comfortable and clean with a nice view and big TV”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Pros:
- Our room had a beautiful view of the lake, even in the winter. The view from the conference centre, according to my wife, was even better.
- The Internet speed in the hotel was very fast. I clocked it using my iPhone at about 9 Mbps, much faster than any other hotel I have stayed at.
- The TV was a large, 40+ inch LG HDTV. With the fast Internet connection, we streamed Netflix on our laptop and hooked it up to the TV with HDMI cables and had a great hotel movie experience!
- Very tasty apples and chocolate chip cookies were always available at the front desk. A nice touch.
- All service staff, from the front desk to the cleaning staff, we're very friendly and helpful.
- We ordered room service. While my wife was unimpressed with her $2 per piece shrimp appetizer, I fully enjoyed my burger and fries.
- We had a fridge in the room, which was helpful when we got leftovers.
- The location was excellent as we could walk to various places downtown.

Cons:
- The beds are Sleep Number beds. Although this can be a nice add-on for some people, we found them uncomfortable and unnecessary and would have preferred regular beds.
- We ordered a movie through the hotel (Green Lantern), and the quality was quite poor. It was a step up from a bootleg version off someone's handycam. Can't say if this is true of other selections.
- The pool, although lovely-looking, was COLD! Couldn't stay in here for more than half an hour.
- Parking, at $15/night, was pretty steep.

Overall:
Luxurious, beautiful, and full of perks, the Radisson has everything that a vacationer or business traveller needs and wants.

Thank you very much for your review, your feedback is much appreciated. I’m pleased that we were able to provide you and your wife with a luxurious experience! You can expect that fabulous lake view from every room in the hotel as well as the big flat screen television and mini fridge. You will be pleased to hear that we have turned up the temperature of the pool. We hope to see you again sometime soon.

“Fantastic view, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Stayed here for 2 nights on the 4th floor with a fantastic view. I booked the starbucks packages which included breakfast.

Rooms - older rooms but it was clean, decorated, and had everything I needed (iron, fridge, hairdryer, etc). Bathroom door knob was falling apart. Beautiful view though! I think all the rooms have a great waterfront view. I didn't find the sleep comfort beds spectacular

Amenities - I only used the fitness room, which was tiny. It had a few machines and weights, but that was all I needed to use anyway. I didn't get to use the swimming pool

Food - had breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. Great food and service!

Location - wonderful location, walking distance to everything downtown. Wooden Heads is a great restaurant down the street about 3 minute walk.

Service - friendly and helpful front desk. They have apples and cookies at the desk too. They were very accommodating and let me have a later check-out.

Room Tip: Ask for the 4th floor (highest floor with guestrooms) for a better view.

“Excellent stay for families and singles alike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed here for my daughters 12th birthday and had a fabulous time. Being from the area we knew all the local hot spots but the girls at the front desk were very helpful during our check in to make sure we knew where we should check out in the city. This hotel is right on the waterfront with an amazing view of the Kingston harbour and is still close enough to all the amenities downtown Kingston has to offer. As we were guests in the hotel our parking was free and the Sunday brunch at AquaTerra by Clark, was incredible as always! We would definitely stay at the Radisson anytime we need to have over night accommodations in the downtown area! Thank you to all the staff for a great birthday!

Room Tip: I believe every room has a great view. I don't think you can get a bad one. :)

“Good Place, Good View, Awesome Food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Stayed here for business Dec 13th. Great hotel, modern feel to it. Absolutely love the restaurant downstairs, my favourite place to dine in Kingston now! Not a huge fan of the sleep comfort beds but was my first time in one so may take some getting used to. Room was clean, bathroom was spacious and front desk staff graciously moved me to a King room. Booked this through Hotwire though and the hotel charged me on top of that so ended up spending some time in the morning reverseing their charges. All in all, not a bad place though!

Thank you for your review. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the billing mix up. I am relieved, however, that it was sorted out before you left and that you enjoyed your stay with us. AquaTerra is a fantastic restaurant and we hope you will be back to stay and dine soon!
