Spent one night here in a dorm of 6 but it wasnt full at the time of staying. The rooms were basic bunk beds and the bathroom facilities were adequate and clean. The hostel has a great vibe and everyone I met was friendly. There is a patio area which is sociable and a massive kitchen area to chill out in too.
Basic, cheap and clean.

I had a comfortable stay. It wasn't the best hostel I've stayed in, but the best SameSun hostel. I would return, because it was fine for my needs, but I would hesitate to recommend this hostel and the SameSun brand in general to friends.

I stayed here for 4 nights and found it to best about as good a Hostel you can get for layout and social activity. The kitchen, dining and outdoor back yard all link up to create an amazing social hub that is very relaxing and great fun. The back yard is the best I have ever seen in a Hostel with Ping Pong in the sun and a hottub and a BBQ and a heaps of tables. A great place to spend on a warm day. The Hostel is on the edge of the the Kelowna Downtown area and only minutes walk to most things and the massive lake.

The only real problems I had were the fact in 4 days noone replaced any soap in any of 3 of the 4 bathrooms. I am not sure if someone was just lazy or if the bathrooms even got cleaned at all. The rooms were also not cleaned or vacummed once in my stay. The overall feel of the place if very clean in its self but these are just some things I noticed.

About 50% of the staff were amazing and friendly and went out of their way and the other 50% seemed to not really want to be there and were very disinterested and just grunted at me a few times.

These very small probelms would not at all stop me recomending any one from staying here. Its a great fun hostel and about as good as anywhere I have stayed for a hostel. I would stay again for sure if ever back in kelowna.

My husband and I booked a private room. It was small. The bed was hard. The noise from the street was unbearable. The internet connection was lousy. All this, I could tolerate, however,...the kitchen area downstairs was FILTHY!!! (Moldy coffee pots, dirty dishes, unswept floor.) And, (here's the kicker) the shared bathroom had needles and syringes in the bin. I'm not saying our neighbours were junkies (perhaps they were just diabetic) but it is gross that they wouldn't put their stuff in a hazmat jar and that the cleaning staff hadn't emptied the bin in what appeared to be days! Okay, okay, but, here's the kicker: there were clusters of small, brown, ovular objects on the floor that looked distinctly like rodent turds!!!! And, I didn't notice them until after we'd already stayed one night!!!!!!! This was not the best pre-marathon experience to have shared and my night. Because we'd booked in advance, the staff refused to refund what we'd payed for the second night and made no apologies about the mess and insisted they did not have a problem with rodents. What a waste of money! I'm just glad I did not "catch" anything from staying there.
