My wife & I stayed at Mood Magic Guest House in Kelowna in July/09. From the moment we arrived everything about this guest house was perfect. Ron & Carrie welcomed us into their home and made us feel very comfortable, more like long time friends than 1st time guests. The accomodations were spotless, with a full kitchen, gorgeous bathroom with a steam shower for two and a seperate bedroom with electric fireplace. The patio off the kitchen was where we spent most of our time in the early mornings having coffee and the evenings with a glass of wine. The "million dollar" view of the lake was what kept us on the patio every day of our stay. We had stayed at numerous B&B's throughout New England on a trip we took in Oct/08 and this guest house in Kelowna was really much better in many ways.
1) We really enjoyed the "self serve" breakfast concept where they stocked the fridge with all the fixings for a hot or cold breakfast that we could then make on our own. This meant we weren't stuck to a set breakfast time and could get up early, make breakfast and be on our way for the day's winery tours before things got crowded at the popular wineries.
2) Because there are only two rental suites at this guest house and each have their own seperate entrance, you almost feel as if you're the only ones there. It was very private, while at the same time Ron & Carrie make you feel you're welcome to join then for a glass of wine anytime.
3) The upscale neighborhood where the guest house is located has a private beach within walking distance so you can easily go for a cool dip in Lake Okanagan on a hot evening.
4) There are at least 5 wineries within a 5 min drive of the guest house and Quail's Gate Winery is just a 3 min walk up the road. We walked there one evening and had an excellent dinner on the winery's outdoor patio.
Overall this guest house was an excellent choice for our stay in Kelowna and we would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing, clean and comfortable B&B at an affordable price.
